Just give the Wook a vibroaxe and be done with it. _________________ Aha! |

If the wook is going melee skip the vibro axe and go for some class with the Ryyk Blades of wookie creation - it maxes out at 7d as well but I can picture cooloer wook techniques with their own blade.
As for the claws, I like the physcological (and cultural) limitations on using them but would only give them a 1d bonus for damage - as per the 'claws probably not having been designed for hunting' discussion earlier - if they were used on a door or a stormie _________________ "What a wonderful smell you've discovered" |

Excluding the movie episode three, they live in a world where they had to create there homes and lives there live in the trees due to there being things bigger and badder than they are on the surface. I think they are claws and are used just like any other animal that has claws. |

As far as I know, Force Pikes dont have an upper limit of how much damage they can do. A tuned-up Force Pike in the hand of a raging wookiee can do like 11d+2 if I remember correctly. That is one of the reasons of why they do not exist in our games... |

force pikes DO have an upperlimit, of 7d, as per the rules of engagement (rebel spec force handbook) _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I have found the deadliest wookie weapon (without damage limit) but I won't tell ya
Just look at the beginning of the "weapon stats" book |

*sigh* /flips to second hard drive to find gry's book...ah,
If your talking about the combat gloves I think that that +2 bonus in d20 translates to about 1d in d6. _________________ We're all gona die!! |

No, that's actually just STR+2, in D6.
The damage limit is a funny thing, cause WEG forgot to apply one for many of its melee weapons, and usually when people convert stats from d20, they forget to apply one as well.... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Most entries I seen on climbing claws get the same bonus damage from them as they give climbing bonus. Besides, a raging Wookiee with max strength, if he's gonna do 8D or 10D, the target is dead one way or another... |
Well, 'climbing claws' and claws developed for combat might not be equally effective. Also, if theres no damage listed, why use a 'silly' example as the Defel as guidance. To be fair there are other example of 'bad' game design when it comes to natural weapons (as compared to, for example, a vibroweapon). _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

Most claws for other creatures which ARE for combat are at most Str+1d+1.. Str+2 or Str+1d is the ave... Since they are NOT made for combat i see them at most being Str+1. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
