Yea, we implemented a interesting house rule in our group. For every 5 over the dodge of the opposing roll, you would get +1D damage. We were noticing that sometimes when you have that incredible roll on your shot and get like 30 with 6D, we would roll damage and get a couple of 1's and do little if any damage. We came up with the rule saying that if you beat them by say 11, You should have got a pretty good shot on them so +2d damage. It works both ways so when we get a low dodge or parry you can bet that we are definetly going be spending some cps....
Anywho, was wondering what you guys thought? |

I've played a system where for every 10 over the difficulty you get +1D to damage.
It was called an effect value as I recall. It worked pretty well. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

My group plays with something similar althou less deadly, +1 for each +5 over the difficulty. It works for us specially for our sniper with Blaster(rifle) 9D. Ouch, he kill things. _________________ http://selarips.free.fr/wookieetranslator/

This is my preferred house rule as well. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Try just straight Blaster at 9D.
Long running character who practices.
A lot.
How much? Well, he, literally, bought shares in BlasTech in order to cut out the middle-man for ammo! |

That will most likely take a year or so, my players know that they need to be well rounded with skills. _________________ http://selarips.free.fr/wookieetranslator/

This is the rule from D6 Space. The only difference is that the bonus apply only when hit in possibly vital area (head or torso for humans). It works very well in our games. Additionally some weapons or special abilities may alter number of success points needed (for example blade with serrated blade may add +1 for every 4 points of success, but a telegraph pole may only add +1 for every 10 points). |

The 1-for-5 rule also appeared as an optional rule in the SpecForce book. I haven't looked at any of the D6 Space stuff but it seems to be a good revision of the system. _________________ Arek | Kage |

That rule (+1d for every 5 over the to hit needed) was one of the optional ones presented in Rules of Engagement. In addition, there was alternate ones where for every dice you took off your to hit pool, you added one to damage though if you missed, you missed... One of those optionals even had it where the additional dice to damage was on a 2 for one basis from your to hit pool. Both were refered to as Dice Pooling.
Our Sparks group uses an alternate one, where if you wish to do a 'called shot' the target gets +5 to his dodge/parry/reaction roll but if you hit, you do +1d damage. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Now you're talking.
Or perhaps Fluffy, with a Melee Combat of 17D... |

Fluffy just swings things big enough that he doesn't need skill.

Nah, Fluffy is a runt Rancor.
"What the **** is an Aluminum Falcon???"
Back to increased damage, called head-shots work too. Or, if you want to be really insulting and rude, and are *REALLY* good, "Called left testicle shot". |
