So, did I misread it, or is the handle of Chirrut's staff a lightsaber hilt? _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

IIRC from the Visual Guide, the hilt of his staff is only a lamp, but that it also contains a kyber crystal sliver,
and that through his enhanced sense of hearing, Chirrut is able to use the harmonics of both to better gauge the placement of his staff.

Excellent! Dmac really does capture the style of Mike Vilardi's old black and white WEG drawings well
(http://caesar120.deviantart.com/gallery/42019578/Star-Wars?offset=24),
especially with the "screentone" / zipatone shading effects! |

It also looks like he can convert it from a staff into a blaster crossbow.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

It's a lightbow, a variant of a bowcaster made by the Guardians of the Whills. |

Gawds, there's so much awesome stuff from Rogue One that I can't wait for them to get D6 stats. I guess we're in for a long wait. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Well and two others are working on a Rogue One sourcebook. Its preliminary for now, but it's in the works.

I completely agree. This art, its so nostalgic and good on top of it. Would be nice to be able to tap the artist for some art in a future sourcebook. Downside is no one likes to work for free. _________________ Don Diestler

More silliness, IMO. In a universe with the Force, Chirrut exhibited enough awareness that I'd stat him as a Quixotic Jedi, with dice in Control and Sense, but not Alter. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Have to agree about the silliness. Word of God has said over and over again that Chirrut is not a Jedi, but under D6 rules, I don't think there's any way to say that he's not at least a minor Force-sensitive. Dunno how'd I'd stat him, though, so I can't fault CRM for stating him as a Quixotic Jedi. Perhaps a Quixotic Human Student of the Force? _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Haha, totally agreed! When I first read that bit about the staff, I may have chuckled aloud. I also found it to be unnecessary, but oh well.
There is no need to supplement Chirrut's existing abilities technologically, even if they did tie to his keen senses. (The Visual Guide gives him an Echo Box transmitter as well.)
Also... Type: Quixotic Guardian of the Whills |

Holy s***, they're claiming he doesn't have any force abilities? _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Telsij and I have come up with a mechanic we think will work for Chiirut. I agree he is probably not Force Sensitive, but there is one line on Rogue One that gives me pause. When he says that peoples aura's take on a blackness when they are going to commit murder or some such.
I have explained this away as he is a bit of a trickster like Obi-Wan. He is able to read people and attaches Force-like trappings to it.
As for his ability to use the Force, we have decided that he can use Perception in the place of Sense for the activation of the Magnify Senses Force power. For a trained Jedi its Very Easy adjust by proximity. For Chirrut I think this should probably be increased as its faith-based.
I would guess this would require at the very least a Very Difficult roll, 18-20. He he Perception 4D, averaging 15 on any given roll, if he were to spend a few Character Points he should be able to activate it, but its never a sure thing.
This can be modeled after when he walks out to the control panel and is pretty much stumbling around until he finds the switch. Though to be fair, I figured this was the use of a Force Point which increased his dodge skill until he reached the panel. Either way works though. It just comes down to how you want to apply them to the mechanics we have. _________________ Don Diestler
