Okay the most outstanding power of the Verpine is +2D when they roll technical based skills.
My interpretation of that rule was if that had dice in the skill and not defaulting. Was I right or wrong? |

Nowhere does it say this. Though it would appear to make sense there is no official rule for this. Again, its supposed to be fast and loose with little crunch. If they added a rule like that then they would have to add a rule that skills have to be at negative if used as a default without training. Eventually you just have to draw a line in the sand and say that is enough crunch.
I have to say the rule it not a bad one and would encourage you to use it in your games if you like. For me its another level of complexity I don't want. _________________ Don Diestler

I imposed a similar penalty the last time I ran for a Verpine character. It helped lower the overall starting skill, and it still would cost a fair number of CP after character creation for the Verpine to get access to his racial ability for every single technical skill, especially if he had maxed Tech. Now, that's not to say that it isn't a worthwhile investment for the player, but for me there are only so many issues that a high Tech can get around. As such, I've never had as much a problem with this race as other GMs have. _________________ RR
