Does anyone know if there are any offical rules for things like poisoning, illnesses, radiation, etc. I know Rules of Engagement has an optional rule for drinking contaminated water and the effects there of.

Domain of Evil had some results for eating poisoned mushrooms. I'd been working on some radiation rules somewhere, but I don't think I ever completely fleshed them out.

Rules of Engagement has rules on drinking contaminated water. I'm sure those could easily be adapted for disease/illness.

There are some poisons in some of the books, I'm sure there's some in the Weapons Stats book.

I think the radiation rules are in the Pirates and Privateers book in the section where it talks about engineering. It's there or possibly in the book where the Imperial RadTroopers are introduced. I'll have to poke around a bit to give ya page number.

The rad deflection badge in Rules of Engagement says to use the same rules for contaminated water for radiation contamination. So I guess there's that. But still there's poisoning and illness.

Though not official, I have adapted the rules of engagement for illnesses in a new sourcebook I am working on. It includes rules for how a character is exposed to disease and fights off infection. It has listings of most known diseases and their symptoms. Also a list of symptoms and how they effect a character.

It is currently about 90% done. It always that last 10% that is hard!

But at what difficulty and what happens if they fail?

Depends.

One of the critters i made which injects a poison into their victims, slows you down (paralyzes you) by removing Dex and Str in varing amounts based on how badly your stamina roll was. Either gets to 0d, you are 'dead in the water' so to speak.
Another gas which acts in a poisonous nature, neuters Per and Dex (slows your mental functions down). if either gets to 0d you go out cold.

Probably not really official poisoning rules then.

Might be worthwhile in the house rules section though.

Ok, looking through Domain of Evil in Classic Adventures Volume II. Found the mushrooms cheshire mentioned, use the same rules as the untreated water in the adventure. Might prefer the contaminated water rules in Rules of Engagement with all the potential effects it offers. There's also some rules for poisonous swamp gas. Since it is the poisonus gas in the Trinta swamps, I'm not sure all poisonous swamp gas would be exactly the same, but it would be a starting point for any swamp gas.

However, Domain of Evil did bring up something I've never thought about. The effects of starving and thirst. Certainly interesting.

Do you mean the hunger and thirst rules, garhkal? I'm guess their what you're asking for so I'll post those for you. Classic Advntures Volume II, Page 82:

Quote:
Food and Survival

-----With no food and very little water, the player characters need to forage for supplies or they will begin to starve. Each day that a player character goes without food, he or she loses 1 pip from Dexterity and Strength die codes. If only one meal is eaten per day, the player character loses 1 pip every other day. Two meals a day are sufficient to maintain health and strength.
-----The player characters must drink at least four pints of water every day or suffer a 2 pip reduction par day.
-----Lost pips are restored at the rate of 1 pip per day that sufficent water or food is consumed. If a character's Dexterity or Strength becomes reduced to 1D, the character is unable to move and dies the following day unless given food or water, depending on which he is lacking.

Interesting so the stamina skill doesn't help you at all when dealing with no food/water.
