I'm in the process of taking Gry's statbooks and putting them into spreadsheet format.
I dunno if other folks have spent hours like I have searching/paging thru the PDFs looking for stuff. But I'm taking the stat blocks and parsing them in a spreadsheet (aka the poor man's database) and making it so you can sort/filter by the different stats.
Would anyone be interested in this when I'm done? _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Can I hear a 'hell yeah'?
Would appreciate that very much, love Gry's sourcebook, but something that can be filtered would be great!

I'm up to the ARC-170... here's a link to the draft:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AgRbB64B-3uCdDdJeDN0cDJpeWlPbEpBWkZtVWlMakE&hl=en&authkey=CJCaurMI
Some notes:
The name is the name EXACTLY as it appears in Gry's statbook so the spreadsheet and the statbook can be easily cross-referenced.
Type will be the rough categories as laid out in Gry's statbook (e.g: Starfighter, Freighter, Bulk Freighter, Shuttle, Yacht, etc.)
There are some stats which have had inconsistent values, and I've done what I can to "normalize" those values for better sorting/filtering. (e.g. Corellian Engineering vs. Corellian Engineering Corp, I picked one and went with it.)
I haven't quite figured out how to list the sensors or weapons and retain any degree of sorting/filtering.
Any feedback is appreciated. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Sure.
If I still had the HDDs I'd built mine on way back in the day (and if those file formats were supported by modern apps), I'd pass them on. Alas, they've been lost to hardware fatigue and a lack of backups, or backups that last longer than a 3.5" floppy _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Good idea.
Really, depending on how you set up your spreadsheet, it could easily be imported into a database.
I'd say for sensors, just list them in separate columns for each mode, C1 - range, C2 - die code. That way you can sort based on each sensor mode for either range or bonus. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

I've included your suggestion for Sensors and worked up the Weapons block. It's starting to scroll out to the right a bit far, though. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

This make actually kinda be against what the spreadsheet is trying to accomplish.
But maybe to reduce the scroll the spreadsheet is broken up into Eras?
Or maybe large Affiliations(Rebel, Empire) |

112 Starships so far... I'm up to page 54 in the statbook, Alliance Starfighters
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AgRbB64B-3uCdGREWmpnWDRxTjEwbVQyUHVQOXNmSVE&hl=en&authkey=CMqagOgJ#gid=0
As for limiting the list, I think I'll leave that to the individual. My default list will be the Master list and then folks can filter and save as separate sheets in the workbook. (Believe me, I will be doing that with my own personal copy.)
Once I get done with the Starships, I'll tackle Vehicles and Weapons. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"
