Never heard of it. But if it indeed exists, I'd guess its pre-requisites would be 5D persuasion/intimidation and you would use to, well, brainwash people, rolling against their willpower. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Oh, I don't think that can be done in rounds. Pretty much all Advanced Skills are extended actions, that take hours, days, months or more. You can't brainwash someone in 3 rounds, just like you can't engineer a car in 3 rounds. It takes at least some weeks to accomplish such things. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

dot forget the equipment and drugs you will need
i think that braniwashing would be like operating a bacta tank.
you need to have the skill to use the equipment, but it wont work all the time if you roll badly _________________ The Vong have Arrived

Well, actually there are several brainwashing methods. Some could include advanced machinery, drugs, torture droids, etc. Others could use the dark side of the Force. But others could use simple things like propaganda, subterfuge, sleep-deprivation, fact-manipulation, intricate setups, etc.... So the skills used could range from Medicine, to Scholar: psychology, to Con or Persuade.... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Gry's right. It depends upon the method, and also a bit on the time you want to take to get it done.
I'd imagine that a player attempting this in a quicker than normal fashion might have to follow a table similar to the one for jury-rigging equipment. They can try it, but there might be serious consequences! |

It's also a matter of how extensive the brain-washing is. I talked to a guy who was a professor in the Soviet Union and he talked about methods they were supposed to use in promoting communism.
For periods of time they would assign intollerable loads of homework intended to sleep deprive students, and that would make them more impressionable to the ideas they were supposed to be internalizing.
Brainwashing is a complicated matter that has varying levels of effectiveness. I think you could write a small book on how to incorporate this into game terms. |

Brainwashing can be found in the Truce at Bakura sourcebook. It is a LONG and COMPLEX description, but if you absolutely gotta have it, I'm sure I could find some way to get it to you. Scan it, maybe. |

well, if you have read the x-wing series, they did a different techinque of brainwashing, is that they were programmed to do a certain task. so you can do brainwashing subtly. you know, they are supposed to rescue person x, and there are stormtroopers around, have him 'miss' the troopers and shoot the target. or have one of the members keep missing the enemy and hitting friends. lots ofo ways to do that.
and in the truce at bakura, it is not exactly a standard description of brain washing, it is teh ssi-ruuk method, and they have other means
the more standard method is that in the movies, you have lots of drugs, lots of pain, little sleep or food i beleive in the lusyankya book there is a prety good description of breaking points. but id say off the top of my head, youd need about a month. a week at the minimum (unless you find a new way to do it as in another of the x-wing series books - project graveyard) _________________ The Vong have Arrived
