I haven't been able to get into their forums for a week. Does anyone know what's going on with this site? _________________ __________________________________

I was just able to open it. It was down for a time, there is a message on the holonet about an outage and server problems. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

So that's what happened. I've been meaning to ask someone, but I didn't know whom to ask.
Edit: Nope. It's still not working right. I can get to the site, but whenever I try to use the search mode, I just get the search page. If I to click on anything on the Category page, I just get the Category page. Is this related to the server problem? |

I'm not sure how it's working out, but for some reason I can't login from the main page. I can, however, go to the forums page and login from there. *shrug* _________________ __________________________________

The forums must have been fixed while the rest of the site was just minimally restored.
Seems like that site has gone downhill over the last year or so- not much discussion in any of the forums. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Yes, I know why. The Holonet was getting in excess of 300 new spammer accounts PER DAY. In a period of two weeks the number of "new members" swelled by nearly 5000.
While a majority of them weren't posting anything, there were still quite a few that DID post spam to the site. In order to stem the flow of spam accounts, subscription to the site was shut off. If an honest to goodness fan of Star Wars wanted to become a member, they would contact one of the staff and then an account would be set up for them so they could sign on.
Sadly, there's a further glitch that has raised it's ugly head and currently the ability to create new accounts has been stymied. If you want to have an account made for you on the Holonet, just let me know and once things get fixed I can make one for you. |

I noticed the other day when I logged on to this site that whenever I go to enter one iof the forums it will say it has 4379 threads and when I enter there are none. I also noticed that if I try to click on any of the links for sourceboks or conversions I just go to a page saying it doesn't exist. Is this part of the problem as well? |
