Hey All!
I need some input.
I was thinking of changing the Main Star Wars story in my game.
I wanted to kill off a main character or make a change that effects the story and the Future.
I recently read Infinities (Comic Book) and I liked the idea.
Maybe Luke misses the exhaust port (and Yavin becomes a Parking Lot).
Maybe Luke dies on Hoth (Wampa Burger).
Maybe Luke gets killed on Tattoine by the Sand People in EP IV (Gaffi Stick Putt Putt).
Maybe Luke fell off Cloud City (Skydiving Luke Action Figure).
Maybe Luke kills Vader and goes to the Dark Side (Darth Whiner).
Then it will be up to my players to save the galaxy (LMAO)!
Anyway, I wanted to know what you guys thought and what story idea's you had.
Anything would be helpful.
Thanks. |

LOL!
Well, we have a Jedi wanna be in our group.
And I kinda wanted him to take Luke's place.
Our Jedi found a Lightsaber and was weened on Jedi tales as he was growing up.
He lives by the Jedi Code.
Only one problem.
He isn't Force Sensitive (LMAO!!!!!)
Lately he has been using slight of hand tricks to mimick the Force.
And as for Luke, he is ok, but he is the Lynchpin in the trilogy and the only real Jedi.
With him gone, the Jedi (and the Rebellion) would need a new hero! |

Inifinities ideas are great, as long as your players know that you're doing that. Some players tend to look at you funny when you start messing with things that they saw as something contrary to how you are explaining it. If everyone is willing to give it a shot, go for it!
The ideas are endless, but the story I always wanted to run was:
What if Luke actually accepted Vader's hand on Cloud City, and they went on to *Vader voice* "...rule the galaxy as father and son!"
You could do that, and then the players, especially the jedi-wanna be (neat character idea, actually...inventive player) have to deal with the fact that Luke Skywalker has now gone bad and they has to deal with not only Darth Vader, but Luke Skywalker as well. (Of course, the Skywalkers would have offed the Emperor by that time, in order to gain total power, so at least he'd be out of the picture. But who knows how strong Luke would be if he went truly Dark Side.)
All told, pick the part of the story you feel would best suit the campaign you want to portray, and go with it. Think a little ahead on the ramifications of that divergance in the history, and extrapolate how the universe would be. It could be fun from the player's perspective when you describe something and it's similar yet different to what they actually know what happened in the movies. For example: Luke is gone, so he doesn't save Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. Leia, Chewie and Lando still go after Han, but they are all captured. Chewie imprisoned, Lando killed, and Leia as the slave girl until she pissed Jabba off and became rancor food. The rebels, without the wonder crew, make their last ditch attack on the "undefended" new Death Star, but end up in a trap they can't get out of. The rebel alliance is crushed, the Death Star 2 is finished, and begins a new reign of terror as it blows up rebellious planet after rebellious planet, all the while impervious to even snub fighters now. Egads, what will be done!
heh heh. It could certainly be fun! |

How about a time travel campaign? A group of storm commandos travel back in time and wipe out the Rebel heroes. The players must follow them back, wipe out the storm commandos, then duplicate the achievements of the origional heroes as best they can.
...an alternate history with a specific goal (so the PCs know what they're supposed to do). _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

Dude... this is Star Wars, not Star Trek. LOL!
That would be a cool idea though. Definitely useful if you have a group that needs a clearly defined goal. |

I've seen it mentioned in the lit forum over at TheForce.Net that there is a comic where Threepio and Artoo do do something that essentially results in them doing some sort of time travelling. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

How about this... Vader gets Powned by Luke, who watches as Palpatine lightnings the hell out of his Son.
Luke, pleading for help, is answered by his Father, who replies by slaming into the Emperor. Who then flees.
Luke and Vader run to the shuttle, and get away. Vader lives, and decides to join the rebellion to attempt to redeem himself, and fight against the Emperor.
Who begins training a new Dark Lord of the Sith...
Darth Chiss. AKA: Grand Admiral Thrawn. |

Aside from the training of a new apprentice, that sounds strangely like Infinities: Return of the Jedi. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Hey, compared to what I saw when there actually were internet cafes within this area and about half an hour to an hour's drive from here, $5 for an hour is realatively cheap. The places I mention wanted that much just for fifteen minutes, $8 for half an hour, and it would cost you around $12 for an hour. And that was for the less expensive of the two. At those prices when folks were getting better rates to go online at home, is it any wonder they went out of buisness. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!
