|
|
Ok, I am trying to figure out what is what in regards to the Thrawn trilogy sourcebooks. These were coming out when the switch happened between 1st and (the much better IMHO) 2nd Edition.
This is my understanding on the editions of these books please correct me if I am wrong.
Heir to the Empire Sourcebook- 1st Edition
Dark Force Rising- 1st Edition
The Last Command- 2nd Edition
The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook- 2nd Edition, including revisions from the prior books.
Is there anything that you feel is important from the 1st edition books that didn't get converted to the 2nd edition books? _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... Let me think about this, Umm Ok, you fail for cheating.

Only Heir to the Empire is 1st Edition, all the others are 2nd Edition. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

There was also the collected "Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook" where all the material was presented in the 2nd Ed format. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

When I got the Trilogy Sourcebook, I already had the 3 individual novel sourcebooks. I actually sat down and compared them all page by page to see if I would lose anything important by getting rid of the individual novel sourcebooks. There are virtually no stats lost (or remained unconverted from the first novel's 1E sourcebook). There is virtually no fluff text lost. The only thing worth mentioning that was lost in the compilation was several art images. Some of them were crap anyway, but a few of them were excellent images created by the premier WEG Star Wars artist Mike Vilardi. All of these images are available on Wookieepedia.
So in my opinion there is really no reason to own any of the individual novel sourcebooks if you have the trilogy sourcebook. _________________ *

Thanks for the info update! i will be sure to make some changes in my database. While I am at it is Han Solo and Corporate Sector first or second edition, it teeters on the 92 changeover. _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... 2nd if I remember correctly. HS&TCS came out after the 2nd ed rulebook. |

Just out of interest, for those of us who are not so certain about which revision of the rules the various sourcebooks are, does anyone have a comprehensive list?
Obviously from the above posts we have:
The Politics of Contraband 1st Edition
Heir to the Empire 1st Edition
Dark Force Rising 2nd Edition
The Last Command 2nd Edition
The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook 2nd Edition
Han Solo and Corporate Sector 2nd Edition
Can anyone fill in the remaining books? I admit I'm not so sure how to tell with some, though some are obvious to discern...

The easiest, quickest way to tell if a book is 1st or 2nd edition is to go to the Vehicles or Starships section and look at the speed rating. 1st edition will have something like "Speed Code: 4D", while 2nd edition will have "Move: 210; 850 kmh" _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |
