Aside from pod and swoop bike racing, what other sports exist in the SW Universe?
I have a feeling that martial arts and prizefighting will be popular. |

Nice list Gry Sarth. 8)
Kus'Nar gladiatorial games held on Coyn pp 141-2, 144 Planets Collection
I think there were some sports on one of the decks on the Kuari Princess scenario. But alas that scenario is on another continent. |

Depending on when set you might also add blastsword dueling otherwise that's more localized to Adumar and the Adumari nation of Cartann in particular. They did have an annual competition forthe title of Cartann Ground Champion so there were offical dueling tournaments that were sports while most duels were just about honor. Blastsword dueling would have been introduced to the galaxy at large after the mission to Adumar in 13 ABY, if it took off off-world at all.
You can also create your own sports. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

+1
Look at how many sports we've got in the world today, and look at how many worlds there are in Star Wars. If you can dream it up, someone's probably playing it for points and/or money. |

One thing's for sure, if you want a popular Star Wars sport, just pick any means of transportation and have people race it. It's a guaranteed hit. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

On one of the screens in the background in the club that Obi-Wan and Anakin go into in AotC, there is a sport being played that looks like droids playing something similar to American football. _________________ *

Edit: And two clicks away from the page above, I found this. |
Nuna-ball sounds like it was inspired by Trollball from RuneQuest. The trolls used a live trollkin as the ball and the athletes used maces and war mauls.
Hisam I went to the second link and saw fishing. There must be a Star Wars bass-fishing kind of contest.
Ba'ss Master
Fast water speeders race to a site so that the contestants can fish for huge predatory fish, then race back to the starting point. I'm thinking ion cannons on the boats for the ride back and maybe to protect the boats from even bigger predator fish. Could make a good humorous break for the PCs. |
