Anyone got stats for this? Trilogy sourcebook gives damage 6d and that's it.
(edit)
Looked on wookiepedia and got some information:
Max. Range: 1500m, Ammo: 500, Cost: 2000
3 scopes: thermal, sniper, and IR, all plug into a Sandtroopers helmet to provide a visual interface on his viewplate.
So.....
Range: 3-30/150/1500?

Updated stats:
Model: BlasTech RT-97c Heavy Blaster Rifle
Type: Heavy Blaster Rifle
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: blaster rifle
Ammo: 500
Cost: 5,000 (blaster pak: 500)
Availability: 3, X
Range: 3-30/150/1,500
Damage: 6D
Equipped with:
Thermal Scanner: detects and enhances life forms that generate heat (+2d Search)
Sniper Scope: automatically calculates range and adjusts rifles components (+2d Blaster if aimed for one round)
Passive InfraRed Scope: heat imaging reduces the effects of rain, smoke, dust, and darkness (nullifies penalties for smoke, darkness, etc.)
Scomp link: transmits all visual data to Stormtroopers optical sensors. A Heroic Weapon Repair and Heroic Sensors roll is required to adapt the Scomp Link to another visual device. Even if adapted properly all bonuses and abilities may not port over correctly to the new optical device.
Notes: Without a Stormtrooper helmet the scopes are unusable (range drops to 3-30/100/400). Requires special Blaster power packs, regular power packs may be used but ammo drops to 25.

Note that maximum range for todays weapons is often far more than effective range, often more than triple. I assume the same is true for SW weapons or otherwise the max range of a normal blaster rifle is very poor indeed.
Look at other sniper rifles availible and compare them to this weapon. _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

Wookiepedia shows a range of 1500m for the RT-97c, and a range of 300m for the E-11, so 1500m must be effective range.
So.
Model: BlasTech RT-97c Heavy Blaster Rifle
Type: Heavy Blaster Rifle
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: blaster rifle
Ammo: 500
Cost: 2,000
Availability: 3, R
Range: 3-30/150/1,500
Damage: 6D
Equipped with:
Thermal Scanner: detects and enhances life forms that generate heat (+2d Search)
Sniper Scope: automatically calculates range and adjusts rifles components (+2d Blaster if aimed for one round)
Passive InfraRed Scope: heat imaging reduces the effects of rain, smoke, dust, and darkness (nullifies penalties for smoke, darkness, etc.)
Scomp link: transmits visual data to Stormtroopers optical sensors.

Did some looking- Wookie seems to show effective range (for all other blasters I looked at) for range.
It does seem pretty long, but that does fit with having to shoot folks from sand dune to sand dune and such.
Range aside, any changes? _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I like the scomp link attachment.. Though how hard would it be to modify to receive it elsewhere, for those who capture them from the imps. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I'd drop the ammo down to 25 for a normal blaster pack. It could be a specialt blaster pack, but the cost should reflect that. |

Id put availability to 3, X given the very advanced nature of the weapon. It seems like a purely military weapon to me. Also, Id up the cost a bit given its extreme range (expensive rifle) and advanced scopes. IMO a weapon that is 100% better in performance should cost at least triple or more in cost. _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

I would still reduce the range, and drop the charges per pack to 10 or so. as is, i cannot see why anyone who had the coin would ever take any other rifle when this exists.. heck, get enough and you won't even need ewebs or other 'blaster artillery... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Yeah, the ammo capacity differs wildly between weapons and seem to follow no logic at all. If you want to have any consistency at all one have to go through the different weapons. I have drastically reduced the ammo for weapons with a high damage rating and/or range. IIRC my heaviest blaster pistols have an ammo capacity of between 10-15 shots for example. _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

Yeah. It is a problem with some of WEGs later supplements. Definite character and equipment inflation. If there are so many 6Dish pistols, rifles, etc. why were characters like Han Solo using such crappy weapons? A DL-44 does a mere 5D damage. |

It's sad. This weapon is basically spelled out to us, but to make it not overpowered, we have to change what was given to us.
I'd like some votes:
If Cost stays the same....
1. reduce ammo (10-15)
2. reduce range (to what?)
Is this sufficient? _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |
