In the latest trailer for TOR you see the rotary blaster in action (finally putting a lid on the 166 blasts/second debate). Also, in the same sequence you see another trooper firing some kind of hip braced laser cannon (ie, not the repeater type). What weapon is this?

Also, given the fact that repeaters just cause a lot of damage, how would a heavy hitting gun differ mechanically from an auto-blaster? |

Very good trailer. Pity it's an MMO. As to the weapon. Sorry no idea.

They've been making genuinely fantastic trailers for this game...I just wish it wasn't an MMO. |

I'd say it's a "Light" repeating blaster - maybe a mini e-web. Use the E-Web for range and give it a 6D+2 for damage.
Unless you're talking about the "Proton"-like weapon. In which case not sure. = \
And that trailer was incredible. I must say I can't wait for that game to come out. That will be one game that I will splurge and be playing. =D |

I didnt understand what you mean with the 'proton' like weapon. Must have missed that one. Perhaps a short range 'e-web' like weapon (damage-wise).

Ah, I see now. What I thought was a portable blaster cannon is actually some kind of missile weapon..

i think the hip launcher is just a grenade launcher of some sort ...
