At this point, i think it would be easier to just TK the saber into being crushed.

I think it probably maes sense to assume that a Jedi can resist TK on his lightsaber as a reaction. Otherwise, you7d have to wonder why it never happens on screen.

I had a player come up with this idea mid combat one time, I limit my players to 5 combat actions a round so with LSC up and parrying he was limited to what he could do, but with the aid of a fp he was able to get over a heroic roll (sixes on the wild dice helped out greatly...) and Inquisitor Brandl lost his lightsaber at the end of the round when the player used his last delcared action to cut the emitter off.

The next few rounds spent fending off TK push and choke were bad times though...LOL.

In my history of running games, the general concept of not doing a TK on a small object is because of intense concentration, and the speed at which the blades of death energy are being whipped around. As first stated I would probably assign a heroic+ difficulty, with a Control or willpower defense. After all, lightsabers are constructed with personal force energy imbued into them.

Also, I would require a heroic perception roll to determine how the lightsaber functions. Every lightsaber is unique, except the basic training saber. Thus, the personality of the crafter can change the weapon dramatically. Some weapons are almost seamless, and in the heat of a duel, you may not notice the pressure plate under your opponents hand in time.

As for the DSP or TK. If I recall correctly, the original rules state "DSP if used as an attack". Now by this definition, you would have to outline what constitutes an attack. I've been playing for 13 years, and running it for about 10, and I would say this is an attack. Not to mention the inherent issues with turning off an opponents lightsaber during a duel from the light side Jedi's perspective. If it came from the Dark Jedi's side, no issues as it is a dastardly action, for an unfair advantage. In the books, movies, comic, etc. most light Jedi, fight with the intention to best their opponent by skill, not trickery, and to me, using TK in a duel is trickery.

I would have to say, if the TK/saber attack was used to disarm and capture the Dark Jedi in question, I would not assign a DSP. If it was used with the intent to kill, then I would state that the purpose was impure, and assign the DSP.

Ultimately, the choice as stated before is always the game masters.
