One of my players are now starting to play a Noble gone Smuggler. Im looking for a decent courier ship. In the same price range as a used light freighter, around 15-20 m long, and with crew plus passengers around 2-4. Perhaps 10 tons of cargo or so..
Edit: Ah, crew should be 1, with about 1-3 possible passengers.
Any ideas? (The Sleuth is too small) |

Have you skimmed through Gry Sarth's starship collection? _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Yes, and it has tons of starfighters, light freighters, shuttles (military kind) and capital ships. |

Perhaps a courier version without those pregnant pods..which also gives it 45 tons of cargo which is too much.
I gave the player a choice of a courier (faster) and a freighter (cargo).. So without the pods cargo is zero?
BTW, that ship is off the charts. Just add shields and some more punch and you have a monster. With no pods, Space 9 and Maneuverability 4D+1. Isnt that more agile than a TIE Interceptor? I think someone dropped the ball here.. |

Ya, I was thinking without the pods... if you read the capsule from Stock Ships, each pod carries 20 tons and 5 tons can be carried in the main body. (For a total of 45 tons of cargo.) So, it seemed to fit your requirements very well. Plus, if your player changes his mind, you can strap on the cargo pods for extra carrying capacity. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Corellia StarDrive Coruscant-class Heavy Courier
Its armed, defensive and if improved would make a fantastic ship, a pc Jedi uses one in my game. _________________ "To find our future, we must look to our past" |

Hows about the MRX-BR Pacifier.. Imp scout ship but could be purchased civillian wise (minus the torp launchers) for a courier ship. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

A used Z-10 without pods, wich have seen some wear and tear, will probably fit what Im looking for.. The original hyperdrive broke down, and some former owner could only afford a x2. The Ion drive is on the verge of breaking down and only generates power to achieve a Space 6 (8 with no pods in this case). The 3D Manveuverability I scratch down to a typo honestly. Ill give it an original Maneuverability of 2D with +1D for no pods, which still make it more maneuverable than a TIE fighter..
The ships in the posts above are a bit too powerful imo, and the Heavy Courier (Cresentx9) simply looks too weird.. The Z-10 is a bit of an ugly duckling itself to be honest..looks like a shampoo bottle (without the pods).
I wanted something looking a bit less ugly, but Ill have to do with that one.. To bad there are so few courier ships.. |

I mean, we see a lot of real-life examples of military vehicles being modified and produced for civilian use. So, how about taking that concept and running with it for the ship you want to use, something like the Lambda Shuttle or Skipray Blastboat that's been stripped-down (simple laster cannons, less-powerful engines and shields, ect.)? |

Speaking of your character, I should have a couple of images for you this weekend. |

Wohoo!
And regarding the ship, yeah that would be kind of fun. A former military ship that has been stripped of the military hardware and refitted with 'civilian' grade equipment. |

As i suggested, a Pacifier, stripped of the torps, makes a great courier ship. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
