|
|
I looked through the other threads about the power and couldn't find any thoughts on one part of the rules, so here's my query:
In the text, it says something to the effect of "this power can be used to shrug off stuns." Now, does that imply that it can be used to ignore the stuns (and when you accumulate stuns equal to your Strength, you fall unconscious) or can the power be used to effectively remove stuns from a Jedi character?
To me it reads as though the latter is the case, although that just might be my regional dialect coming into play, in this case. Thoughts? |

Since the power is called "Control Pain" not "Remove Pain" I always interpreted it to mean that you still have the stuns, you just don't suffer the negative dice effects.
However once you suffer as many as your strength you will still fall unconscious unless you use Remain Conscious(?) to stay up. |

Thanks, I'm running a high-powered D6 game right now (we started with D6 and then switched over to Saga for a bit where they got to some high levels, now we're finally back to D6), so we've never really had to fiddle with a lot of the Force powers. |

As pain is an important part of a 'Stun' result (leading to shock) I would interpret the rule that any Stun result suffered while having control pain active is ignored, ie like it never happended.
Also, the passage about Stuns is not worded in nearly the same way as the description about how the power interacts with wounds. When dealing with wounds the text mentions that the character 'doesnt suffer the penalties..'.
When dealing with Stuns, it doesnt say 'ignore any stun penalty' but 'Shrug of any stun result' (which indicates that the Stun never takes effect to begin with). |

Yup. unless it incaps you (or you receive 3 wounds, whih will PUSH you to incap), you don't have any penalties other than the -1d map for keeping this power up. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
