Startracker is a Noghri Force Sensitive who works for Vader and is (currently) being reassaigned to tracking the PC's and "waiting" for the kill order.
Stats I can recall is Str 5D+2 (with brawling Martial Arts spec @ 8D), Control, Sense, and Alter all @ 10D, 12 dark side points, Dex 3D, Lightsaber @ 9D, and a lot of the force powers (but still way less than half of the powers).
Soon enough he'll be assigned to taking out the PC's, the question is what will they do when he goes to attack them? |

Yes. And it's gotten to be a pretty high level campaign so it's nothing inappropriate. ST's force skills are around 1D+2 to 2D+1 higher than the highest PC's force skill. |

And there's a few PCs to make it balance I take it?
I'd say they will all attack. But a smart group might have half attack with lightsabers and half try other force attacks.
I'd say be ready for anything.... PCs are quite adept at surprising you from time to time. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

You should give him a full Noghri commando squad. While he provides distraction, his squad mates move in to flank. I doubt they'd be able to detect a group of Noghri. Especially when the main guy is standing out in the open. If everyone doesn't move in to attack right away, 2-3 Noghri a piece come out of the shadows and team up. Very very difficult to defend against if one doesn't already have lightsaber combat active. |

This is true - and Noghri are very adept at their martial arts and what not.
A group of them would be very much harder, and the Noghri as a whole would move in to use their martial arts. A group of them would easily wipe the party out as no one in the party has Brawling: Martial Arts specialty.
I may have 1 or 2 additional Noghri show up, but a full squad would wipe the party out.
"Brawling: Martial Arts
Because of the fast nature of this combat, Noghri get a +2d to their skill when someone does not have martial arts, and a +1d+2 bonus to damage when going against someone without the martial arts skill."
As well as:
"Noghri's claws add +1d damage in combat and their teeth add +2d to damage in brawling combat."
So, besides their strength score, they're getting +2D+2 against the PC's, and +3D+2 if they use their teeth in their martial arts attack. Figure most of them will have a 4D+2 to 5D+2 str score, be way more than the PC's would be able to handle. At max, that'd be 8D+1 (and with armor, the PC's are only getting a 5D soak, with the exception of one who is getting significantly more because he actually paid for good armor).
If I want to do a party-wipe, a full attack squad of Noghri are the way to go, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm going for or not. = \ |

In my games the Noghri wouldnt change their numbers 'to be fair'. Noghries usually work in commando teams when working for the Empire, so why not. Having said that the 'official' Noghri stats are so OTT munchkin-ish that Id rather change those than cutting down the numbers to an unrealistic level. Start with the rather stupid damage bonuses from claws and teeth. Come on, a damage bonus from teeth that is higher than a vibro bayonet..(which are said to cut through bulkheads and similar). |

Well the Noghri aren't changing their numbers to "be fair", I am.
That being said, they're all going to be a stronger noghri representing years of combat fighting and experties. Maybe the other members of their party died, were killed off fighting targets for the empire, and they just haven't gotten reinforcements. Whatever. Regardless, the Noghri are meant to severely hurt the party - not wipe them out.
However if the 2 or 3 Noghri do in fact wipe the party out - well - not much to do about that. |

And I'm not a fan of changing WEG's species stats.
I allow the Verpine to keep their +2D bonus to all tech rolls (just they get hunted -quickly- if any actually leave the Roche asteroid belt).
There's a price to be paid for being the "Best of the Best". |

I have long since moved away from the idea that 'official' game rules/stats have a value beyond their immediate use. |
