Thanks to viewing Ben Wootten's (formerly "Grey Area" of the Holonet) art work here, it's revealed that the illustration for the DL-18 on page 38 of the Weapons Stat book is wrong. Perhaps this could be updated as well?

Yeah well, I was aware there's quite a bit of conflict concerning the DL-18. So far we have three different looks for the weapon, according to different sources:

As you see, the only sources that agree with each other are the D6 Rulebook and the d20 Arms & Equipment Guide. However, the New Essential Guide is the most up-to-date source, and it does feature a blaster that actually appears in the movies.

So what do you think, should I update the DL-18 ?

I'd go with the most up to date source (and movies), but it's all good.

I thought Luke carried a DL-18 standard blaster pistol.

No, I think he carries a DL-44, similar to Han's. Although he grabs a DL-18 from Jabba's guard in the throne room.

I'll have to watch the trilogy again. Very Happy
I love having reasons to do it other than my own entertainment.
I'll let you know, I'm usually pretty good at spotting weapons in movies. As of right now, I seem to recall that his blaster was significantly smaller than Han's.

According to the wiki Luke uses a Merr-Sonn M-57 blaster pistol.

No, that weapon never appeared in any RPG books. It seems to have been identified only in the Card game.

I wonder if the holster can be used as a shoulder stock to allow the weapon to fire in autoburst mode? Smile

I wonder why they used German firearms in the Trilogy? Less chane of the audience recognizing them?

I vote for the newest (New Essential Guide and Movie prop) version of the DL-18. It seems like the most canon-based version.

This might be worth a post on the Lucasfilm's Holocron site - Leland Chee did eventually reply to a question I posted there a while back.

PostPosted: Mon Apr 12, 2010 7:46 pm    Post subject: Force Power Reply with quote

I don't want to change subject, but I was wondering the following after going through one of my Adventure Journal:
Has this Force Power ever been added to the Force Power List:

Merge Senses
Sense Difficulty: Moderate. Modified by Proximity.
Time to use: Three Rounds.
Required power: Magnify Senses.
Effect: This power alows a Force user to perceive things through the senses of another creature, one with animal intelligence or less. He can see through the eyes of the selected creature, enjoying the benefits or being bound by the restrictions of the creature's vision. he can hear through the creature's ears; smell what the creature smell; and physically fee whatever the creature is feeling. The Force user does not control the creature, but can make suggestions. The simpler, the less threatening the request, the more likely it will be agreed to. If a suggestion goes against the nature of the creature or would put it in an obvious hazardous situation, the Force user must make a sense roll against the subject's willpower. Failure means the suggestion is ignored.
While the Force user's senses are merged with a creature's, the Force user's body is motionless, its senses unable to function until, of course, the meld is broken. Releasing the target creature require a Moderate roll. The link with the creature is also broken by the death of either the creature or the Force user. If the creature suffers damage or dies during a meld; the Force user suffers one-half the amount of damage.

Being printed in the Adventure Journal (#14, p83), it is official. SO I believe it should be in the updated list.
If it is already and I missed it, my apologies.
