Well, I'm working on running a game afore I ship out to Winnipeg, and wanted to run ideas by you folks before I do.

It's based in the Clone Wars time, but I figure that most groups would probably run it in Rebellion Era instead. The Clone Wars unit I have the PCs at is at the back end of nowhere, and has no Clone Troopers, no Jedi, nothing but a bunch of ancient Navy Ships, and even more ancient ground gear, so it fits nicely with the Rebel Alliance.

Location: The Planet Chi, a predomently Human colony world in the Nois System.

Mission by the Rebel Alliance: Aquire support from the planetary government (Which is something called a "Crimeocracy"), and get them to support us with their vechicle industry, as they've been apparently developing armoured fighting vechicles for their own use after being denied the right to purchase from Imperial Sources. If support cannot be aquired, at least get us the right to buy said vechicles.

Rebel Situation: The Rebel Alliance is seriously lacking in ground vechicular support (Land and Air Speeders, in other words) in this system, consisting of civilian vechicles that they've, ahem, "Aquired". They are completely worthless in military applications (Particularily against the Imperial CAVs and Walkers), and are barely adequate for useage as rear-line troop transport or hit-and-fade missions. The Planet Chi has a rather large domestic speeder industry (As owning a Speeder is a major part of their culture), and is one of the odd planets that's been able to keep it's neutrality in this perilous times.

Getting to the Planet: Make it as easy or difficult as you figure it needs to be, dear GM. Easy trip, hard trip... Maybe even make it look like they've been compromised. All up to you.

Planetfall: If the ship's transponder has a completely clean record, it and it's crew is hasselled to the full extent of the written rules and regulation. If it has some record of illegal activities (Smuggling, Blockade Running, Destruction of Imperial/Mercenary/Criminal Property, etc.), then they're given about as much hassle as is expected for a Spaceport in a major city. If the transponder is flipped while in system, or the comm-tech gets upset and says the ship's other name by mistake, it is almost waved in immediately.

Docking Bay 54: An Imperial-Grade Docking Bay, with a twist. The Customs official, while makes sure that the crew and passengers passes quarentine requirements, doesn't care about the cargo, aside from requesting right out for his bribe to look the other way. If the crew states that they're hauling only legal cargo, he'll immediately search the ship. If they admit they're hauling contraband, he'll demand to inspect it, and will wave it through with no problems (Save for slaves, which the PCs aren't likely to be hauling, eh folks?). The facilities here are complete, and cost is only 5% higher than Galactic Standard (Which is odd considering how far out the system is.).

Local Thug: A large human (Large enough to claim Wookish heritidge), wearing a nice pinstripe suit and wingtip shoes named Vinnie comes forward, and introduces himself. He states that the ship looks very nice in that bay, and that some... "Insurance" and "Security" might be in order, and offers to provide some for 50 Credits (He'll take Old Republic (Which is still used locally), Imperial, and goods. If they offer Rebellion Credits, his price jumps to 150 Credits). If they push why they should pay him, he'll open his jacket, revealing his Blaster Pistol in a shoulder rig, and pulls out a piece of paper from his Mickey Pocket (Which also has a Mickey Flask in it), the paper states that he's a bonded "Enforcer", and is fully licenced and allowed to injure, maim, and kill people in defence of his employees and their property.

Vinnie was a bodyguard for one of the old bosses (More on them later), competely honest in what he's offering, and is actually a bit desperate for the work, hense him working the docks like he is. He will die to protect the ship, but is far more likely to make others die. All his stats are 3D, save for his Strength which is 4D, and he has both the Blaster and Dodge skill at 6D. If it comes up, he has a Streetwise of 5D, and a Streetwise: Planet Chi of 7D.

Diplomatic Relations: Upon leaving the Spaceport, the group is approached by some rather large and disreputable looking gentilmen with bulges under their arms (Obviously blasters of some sort). The PCs are, politely, suggested that they should go with the nice gentilmen.

They are lead to a strange speeder-limo (Visual Aid: http://www.rrab.com/rolls/sg-35.jpg ), with an important looking dapper fellow in it. He states that he's the Lawyer for the Antione Family, one of the "Bosses" of the planet, after seeing the blank looks on the PCs.

He explains that the planet is run by a "Crimeocracy", the most powerful criminals run the government, as long as they stay within the Honour Code of Theives, the most ancient set of rules on the planet. They had originally been a Democracy during the hey-days of the Old Republic, but the system had gotten hopelessly corrupt, and had tried to become an Empire. The people revolted, and the Criminal Lords had been the main thrust against the Government, and became the Interm Government in their stead, then, at the voice of the people, became the permenant one. (A Very Difficult Planetary Systems roll will give the PCs this information if they think to research before hand.).

The Meeting: Boss Antione is a young man for his position, though far from the youngest in the long history of his family. He started out, as is his family's way, at the very bottom rung, and worked his way up from there, and has the bent nose to prove it. He dresses in Darkwootha Silk suits (Priced at 1000 Credits), and still has them tailored to not show the bulge of his Heavy Blaster Pistol that kept him alive throughout the years.

If any of the PCs is able to "Speak his Language" (Has a Streetwise of 4D or above), then he is able to almostly instantly agree to selling the vechicles ("Business is business after all, and, frankly, I'm sure that these vechicles I'm selling to the Legitimate Milita of Tracca-III will never let them fall into the hands of the Rebel Alliance!".). If not, it'll take a lot of persuasion to do so (Role Playing Time!).

But, if they want more support, they'll have to show "That you have more respect for us than the Old Republic did.". He explains that the Republic had let the rot of corruption happen to the government, and did nothing (A investigation group had been bribed.), and that it was happening again, and that the Empire has refused to offer any support at all.

He pulls out a Datapad with a Holo-Emitter, showing a Rodian's head wearing a bandana: "This new, off-world Boss: Hard-Boi. Damned Greenie Rodian! He comes in, wacks Old Man Toppazini, and takes over his operation without a 'How you do.'. THEN he goes out... He goes out and tries to wack us other bosses... IN OUR OWN HOMES! Where our CHILDREN sleep! Hell, Raddisi's kids WERE killed when some of his boys started lobbing grenades into random rooms!" He screams, throwing the datapad to the Greel Hardwood Floor so hard it cracks and the hologram sputters off. "But we can't try and wack him. No... He may break the code, but we... We still have to live by it. But if someones were to... Handle him. We'd be greatful to said people... And whatever organization they belong to." With that, he storms out, cursing and swearing in at least five different dialects. The Datapad is destroyed, and inoperable, but it's memory system is still intact enough that a Moderate Computer Programming/Repair roll can get at the data, but requires equipment on the ship to do so.

The Situation: Hard-Boi is really named Traa Durnoc, who tired his hand at the traditional occupation of Rodians, Bounty Hunting. It didn't work out, so he turned to Grand Theft Speeder and some other, more violent, crimes. He was captured by Captain Hans Tuurith of the Blockade, an Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, with a load of stolen speeders in his hold. Captain Tuurith has always chafed at the thought that Chi gets to not have to be under Imperial Rule due to the bribes they give to Sector Governers and Moffs, and has attempted to "Disturb the rule" of the planet. He gave Hard-Boi some equipment, and a few other prisoners that he had, and turned him loose on the planet rather than having to go to Kessel for murder.

Hard-Boi has most of the ex-prisoners driving around in his stolen speeders (Think of the Ricers you see in modern street racing movies. Yes, I shudder too.), and stays at his home under the protection of some really old Battle Droids (The really old model, needing a Droid Controller!).

What the PCs know: From the Datapad, they get Hard-Boi's real name, and most of his jacket (His criminal record). If they can slice into the Imperial Datanet somehow, they can get all of his info, which still is only the info given above. He's a very bad Rodian. Even by Rodian standards, he's a bad, bad person. On a Heroic Roll, they find a notation that he had been apprehended by an Imperial Navy Ship a month before he arrived on planet, and no furthur info is given.

If they think to talk to Vinnie he can tell them the situation with Hard-Boi and his "West-Side Boyz", and how much everyone on the planet can't stand them and their dishonourable ways. He doesn't know about the battledroids.

Any other data/situations/ideas the GM wants to throw at the PCs.

What do the PCs do from here: Up to them. They've preformed the minimum of their duties for the most part. Do they wish to go after the Crime Boss and secure the support of the planet on their own? Get some support from the Rebel Alliance? Something else?

As for the vechicles they are able to buy, Boss Antione arranges them to have a "Demonstration" in a warehouse. Stats for them will come when I get time to write 'em up.

Whatta think?
