It was in ROTJ.
Sensors seemed to be working without any interference, just that they couldn't pick up the shield. That's cloaking. If they were being "jammed" there would be all sorts of interference-a dead giveaway that they were being jammed. |

Like Atgxtg said they could NOt detect the sheild. So the movies do show that SW jammers can make some things impossible to detect. Whether this applies to spaceships is anyone's guess.
It was just the best patch we could come up with which didn't involve massive overhauls of the combat system.
As for the overflight problem...Our house rules made the maximum move of anyship the number listed on the stats. So it never came up.
Though it you want a good laugh there is IIRC some pirate ship (or maybe it was just on the same page as the pirate ships) in the Corp. Sector SB which had gun ranges of 25 but its its longest sensor range is only 20. So its gun targeting sensors are BETTER then its ship detection sensors! _________________ - J.T. Swift

This occurred to me yesterday- passive sensors can detect another ships active sensors. So if you operate under that assumption your sensor range to detect a ship increases (your passive plus their active). _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

It's not supposed to, but you could work it that way. I wouldn't though, since longer range sensors might not be more powerful, simply more capable. |

They even say that they are jamming sensors...
Also, just because they didnt manage to jam sensors enough to make the enemies miss the DEATH STAR and a large number of Star Destroyers from a few hundred kms, dont mean they were cloaking. |
