I want to create an era that is enjoyable to run and for my players to play in. What formum should I place my ideas in to bounce idea off you guys in the pits?
Current idea Legacy Era (I have made some historical changes)
The year is 160 ABY, the Star Wars Universe is in an uneasy truce. After Darth Krayt was killed by Cade Skywalker and his group. The One Sith fell ontop of its self with in fighting taking almost ten years till they had returned to some form of organization and power (details later) The Fel Empire took advantage of this and alligned its self with the few Moffs that had any power and claimed a large area formly under the control of the Sith. At the same time the Jedi had one of there greatest discoverys in 1000s of years. The lost ship The Athenaeum was found on an isolated icy planet of Kelieyn III. After the Treaty of Coruscant Gnost-Dural the keeper of the Jedi Archives, made The Athenaeum a holding place for copies of the Archives through mostly Holocrons. He set out on his ship after things with the Sith Wars turned bad for unknown space and the ship crash and froze with him inside in a hybernative trance and was awoken just 20 years ago and with the Lost Temple of the Jedi have been able to return the Jedi to a powerful force once again. the Jedi helped the Galatic Alliance secure an area outside of the One Siths Control.
Over Time The One Sith returned to some power but were forced into a treaty with the Fel Empire and the Galatic Alliance also signed a treaty with the Fel Empire so through these treatys it has braught peace to the Universe for now.
How does this sound for a setting so far? |

What kind of adventure are you going to be running? Political intrigue? Independent scoundrels? Force users? Sounds like a fairly peaceful time, so unless you're planning on some treaty breaking and all out war. Just not much info for me to be able to give you an honest opinion. I like the legacy era, Fel Empire for the win! But, I dunno, the Sith in that era seem so campy and lame. The Jedi have almost always had it hard, no matter what era they're in. (They walk the difficult path of the force, one of selflessness and denial.) The poor galactic alliance barely manages to hold any sort of military power. Give me a little more idea of exactly what you're planning on doing, and I can give you an honest opinion. |

Its going to be a Force User heavy game
The players early on have basic adventures
Im going to have the Sith and the Alliance in a cold war fighting each other trying not to let the Fel Empire know and trying to convince the Fel to help them go to war and destroy the other
The Sith keep high bountys up on all Jedi so Bounty Hunters will show up all the time |

...Having just popped across the topic (sorry, been out a few days), I find it an interesting setting. The cycle of destruction-renewal for both the Jedi & Sith is clearly evident (& a common Star Wars theme). I haven't read up as much on the Legacy period, so I can't help with too many particulars, alas.
...The Cold War-esque nature of it allows many an opportunity for smuggling, espionage, insurgency, chasing bounties, etc.. I would recommend not making it solely Force Using PCs--which allows those that can fly under the radar so-to-speak to assert themselves (I've found all Jedi groups can get hard to handle when they get more advanced). A way to bring such in would be for the Freedom Warriors (Tales of the Jedi Sourcebook) to be revived.
...My 2 Credits worth anyway! _________________ The man who thinks he knows everything is most annoying for those of us that do. |

Challenging them shouldn't be too difficult. Not with all the Sith running about. Are the Jedi themselves allied with the Alliance? In the mainstream Legacy era, the Jedi are in hiding, and are trying to rebuild their numbers without getting too involved with the greater galactic politics. |

|

I have made some changes to the One Sith after Skywalker killed Darth Krayt the Sith fell on top of their selves with infighting like Cade had foresaw. The infighting lasted ten years and this is when the Galactic Alliance and Fel Empire took large amounts of the galaxy back from the One Sith.
Not until Darth Ruin took control of the Sith and reorganized it did they become able to repel the Alliance and the Empire. Darth Ruin organized a council and in Sith tradition called it the Dark Council which had 5 seats under him (if you are a DND player he took the one sith from being a Chaotic Evil organization to a Lawful Evil organization) The five members of the dark council were
Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Ruin
Sith Regent Lord Darth Strife
Sith Lore Master Lord Darth Sadow
Sith Fist Lord Darth Nihl
Sith Emissary Lord Darth Malice
Sith Hand Lord Darth Talon
Each of these different lords has their own responsibilties.
Ruin also set down the rules for apprientices each council member may only have 5 apprentices and when the current Lord dies then their the council and the Dark Lord select who will replace the dead Lord
The Dark Lord of the Sith may only have two true apprentices and if the Dark Lord dies then one of these two selected by the Dark Council shall be the new Dark Lord of the Sith.
The name Darth is now limited to known apprentices and the Lords themselves.
The Sith Empire remain in control of the Galatic Core with Corescaunt and Koriban being two of there major planets. With everything inside the Expansion Region and parts of the Mid Rim
All inhabited and profitable planets of the Empire have a Planetary Govener appointed by the Sith
The military is a mix of Force Users, Storm Troopers, Droids and Clones
The Sith keep a Bounty on all Jedi, they want them alive to try to turn them and corrupt them into Sith |

The Fel Empire has seen a great resurgence with the death of Darth Krayt.
Roan Fel is still the Emperor
Capital city is still Bastion
The Imperial Knights have grown in size and Strength and are the a major force within the Fel Empire
Emperor Fel is getting up there in age in his 70s his son is currently being trained as an Imperial Knight for his assention to the throne.
The Fel currently have a non aggression pact with both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Alliance, with wording about if you declare war on the other they will side with the non aggressor.
The size of the Empire has grown greatly From the Mid Rim Out to the Hydian Way around TinGel arm down into Hutt Space. Cutting through Perlemain Trade Route with the inner edge point being Almania all the way down to Hutt Space and everything behind Hutt space connecting with Galactic Alliance Space.
The Fel Empire has been using these last 8 years with no war to rebuild a powerful infrastructure within the Empire.
They are currently the Glue that holds the Galaxy together |

The Galactic Alliance has once again settled into an area and become a power for the good of the people.
The Alliance is controlled by an elected Triumvirate and The Senate it is a Federal Republic.
Each Sector gets 4 elected Senators, the Senators elect the Triumvirate
The Capital of the Alliance is Eliad after The Emperor sent all the Senators out here after his rise to power they slowly built a powerful planet full of life and technology coming close that was mostly left alone always helping the Rebel causes now with the Alliance back in power in the outer rim it was a great capital city easily defensible
The Alliance works hand in hand with the Jedi Council but neither has any official power over the other.
The area The Alliance controls is a large part of the Mid and Outer Rim. The Alliance Starts at Rattatak all the way around the Outer Rim to Gamorr meeting up with both Hutt and Fel Empire Space. They Control along the Mid Rim from Moonus Madel of Bothan Space all the way around the Cereaan Quadrant. |
