Im sure this has been discussed before, and I probably even have it right, but wanted to check to make sure I was getting this right.

If you raise a force skill, it costs MAPs depending on the skill

EG all Control + Alter skills will take 2 rolls to bring up, therefore 2 actions

CSA always take 3 actions therefore MAPs.

Player has the option of activating the skill over multiple rounds to negate MAPS (eg a CSA (affect mind) power can be brought up over 3 rounds to provide one suggestion?) or can only introspective powers (LSC, farseeing) be brought up over multiple rounds.

and final questions. powers that can be "Kept up" take 1 action per power to bring up. and what brings them down? damage?

thanks for your help in advance Smile

Normally, yes. THe benefit for bringing up a CSA power over the three rounds is lessened maps for the first 2 rolls.
Round 1 all you are brining up is one power, so that is only 1 action. No maps unless you do any other actions.
Round 2, the second part comes up, so you now have 2 actions, -1d.
Round 3 the last part comes up so you get the full -2d.

Yup. Taking even a stun drops all kept up powers.

no, spreading across multiple rounds removes the map.
pg 142 star wars 2e r&e
ana is trying to activate projective telepathy, which requires both a control and sense roll. ana can make the control roll in the first round and the sense roll in the second. she gets to roll her full die code for both force skills, but it takes her two rounds to activate the power. if the situation is urgent, ana may try to activate the power in one round by rolling both control and sense in that round. this counts as two actions, so ana would roll both control and sense at -1D

Hummm... so you think the MAPs for activating a power in multiple rounds only applies to powers that have to be "kept up"?

well, it could be as garhkal said, map of 3 to bring it up and then counts as just 1 action every round there after (or a cumulative 1 action to bring it up in 3 rounds)

no MAPS to bring up in 3 rounds (or 3MAPs in one round), then 1 MAP to "keep up"

I thought it was the latter of those two possibilities, but was not sure.

No as it is still maintaining all three force powers for that skill, so would still be a 2 action MAP min...

But i forgot that section from the rules with Anaya...

I have a question about Concentration. It can only be used with one skill, but can it be used with Force Power which needs three Force skills?

In the 1st round Jedi Concentrates and use other Force Power rolling for control with +4D bonus. In 2nd rounds he rolls for Sense and Alter. Is this correct?

Well being the power does state it cannot be used with any other skills other than the one being worked on, so if the jedi splits up the rounds he activates a three (or two) skill force power, i see no reason why he COULD NOT use it in the first round. BUT since he would technically be maintaining the other powers he cannot use it in the second or third rounds.
