Hay all, fox-paw here sending a communication in for the first time, will put up a hello on the intro-board later....

Anyway to the subject at hand, when im playing starwars and finally get around to constructing a lightsaber for my characters theres nothing more i like doing then sketching the hilt to show my GM and fellow players, so my request would be... you guessed it, a collection of lightsaber pics, movie/comic hilts mainly, but if you have some sketches feel free to share. Thxs much in advance, should give me some inspiration.

I have some photographs of a lightsaber I built in this thread. It's a replica of Luke/Anakin's saber from Ep. 2, 3, 4 and The Clone Wars.

Here's digitized image of one of my character's lightsabers (it's going to be completely revised soon, I don't like it)

(and a photo of the hand drawn version I traced over)

Ok...

if you want pix of hilts, try:

www.parksabers.com
www.randomsabers.com
www.advanced-light.com

And, you might want to see if you can find Jamfke's Lightsaber Guide... it has pix of all the lightsabers of the major players...

Or, alternately... do a google image search or even Ebay for pix of lightsaber hilts...

OH...

and don't forget pages like DeviantArt.com

if you're gonna search something like that, just remember to use all the different variations of lightsaber: "Lightsaber", "Lightsabre", "Light saber", and "Light sabre"

Some people think it's two words for some reason... and then those crazy Brit-types who can't spell... (j/k) Wink Very Happy

Man, a lot of the stuff on the Advanced-Light site is garbage. Well crafted garbage, it would seem, but garbage all the same.

If and when I ever get my scanner up and operational, I'll try to scan in the myriad of different lightsabers I've drawn. Sometimes I'll just take a blank page and draw like 20 or so of 'em...sometimes the bug hits me; what can I say?

If I get that far, I'll also post the lightsabers for my characters, the ones I've actually drawn so far, that is...

That would be awsome Skyler, looking forward to seeing those, I would scan the ones ive drawn but most of them are to small, not to mention i dont own a scanner. a shame too cause the saber my dug char weilds is made from old pod racer parts, yet somehow resembles a blaster rifle meets musket.

Yeah, well, I did check on my scanner...I actually have one, but found out it doesn't have a power cord!?! Granted I got it free from a friend of mine, but it woulda been nice to know that ahead of time. I got it outta the box to hook up, and NOTHING! No USB cable either, but I have one of those.

So, more delay on getting the bloody thing up and running. And then I'll have to actually dig up all the sketches I've done...hehehe

I've also done some (or am working on) sketches of some of the characters in the PbP games I'm in. I'll have to post them, as well...

There's also http://www.thelightsaber.com

If you look under "histories" in the sidebar there's a pretty comprehensive gallery of all the lightsabers from the movies and a large number of hilts from the EU.
