I'm trying to think of a name for an ISD III that I'm using in one of my games, but for some reason, can't seem to come up with a decent name for it. Seems like all the decent ones have already been used.

Any ideas? |

				Hmm.

On second thought, They sound more like brand names of condoms, or some kind of nasty sexual device. _________________ -The Wookie has no pants- |

How about Judas Priest albums, then?

Painkiller

Jugulator

Angel of Retribution

Turbo

Screaming for Vengeance

Actually, I think Painkiller is an excellent name for an ISD! _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

				Maybe Debbie Gibson albums:

Out of the Blue

Electric Youth

Anything Is Possible

Body Mind Soul

Think With Your Heart

Deborah

ISD Electric Youth is probably a SAGroup COMPNOR training vessel.

Looking up their discography, their latest album released last year wouldn't be too bad: "The Block". Although it sounds more like a World Devastator than an ISD.

Black Sabbath albums aren't half bad:

-Dehumanizer

-Never Say Die

-Paranoid

-Technical Ecstasy

-Sabotage

Or Deep Purple:

-Fireball

-Machine Head

-Stormbringer (this IS awesome) _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Actually, I like Stormbringer Gry. Nice suggestion.

Also, thanks Barra, Royal Navy ships might be a good idea, I'll take a look through there. Trying to match up the ship's name, with the Commander's personality.

Glad to be useful occasionally... and thanks for the list of used names. I don't pay much attention to the EU but something easy to access like this lets me avoid confusion, as you say.

You might also try googling for ships from the Horatio Hornblower novels/films or from Patrick O'Brien novels. I'm less familiar with the latter but there might be something useful in there. |

You can also use archaic weapons for names:

Broad-Sword

Crossbow

I like weapon-related variants as well, and really anything that sounds ultra militaristic and masculine.

Warhammer

Thunderhammer

Swiftsure

Warmaster

A quick/dirty method that I sometimes use is to take the names of planets in the sector the ship patrols or was built in, especially the smaller capital ships. _________________ However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results. -Sir Winston Churchill |
