Doesn't really seem like it would be all that difficult to put your arm in the way. That's all I'm saying. I would either give them large die bonus, or maybe have them make just a successful difficult check with brawling parry. Something like 16-20 to stick your arm in the way. |

With a gauntlet or shield I see a small bonus (+1d, for example) to parry, or perhaps a free parry.

How would wearing the gauntlet increase your ability to wield a lightsaber? _________________ __________________________________

Lol, no, not to increase lightsaber, but you use brawling parry at +1D or +2D I think is what he was talking about. I was suggesting a flat difficulty for brawling parry, maybe even half of the attackers attack roll. Dunno, just an idea. |

No problem. We're all friends here. I hope I didn't come across as turse. Reading my post again I see that it might be seen that way. _________________ __________________________________

Hey, Cheshire, I had already included conversions for those equipments in the PDF. Did you not like them or did you just not notice them? _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I don't really think that those stats do the gauntlet justice.
First of all, if Emperor Fel blocked a sith's lightsaber attack with his gauntlet, his arm would still be gone if he took full damage from the lightsaber.
I would say that the gauntlet's protection would be like 1D resist for both physical and energy, but if the gauntlet is used to parry a lightsaber, I would have it be deactivated for 1D minutes.
As for the roll to deflect:
Either the player in question makes a brawling parry roll, difficulty 20.
or
Players make opposed roll, the lightsaber weilder makes his attack at half dice, versus the gauntlet at full brawling parry. (MAPS taken into account of course.)
Also, I'd up the cost of those things to at least 10,000 credits, and make the availability X. Making the only way to acquire one to either buy it on the black market at 5x mark up, or to kill an imperial knight, which is no small task. |

I just hadn't noticed them. Sorry.
But I am a bit uncertain about the cortosis gauntlet. Part of the reason why people wear cortosis is because of its lightsaber resistance. I'm not sure if the gauntlet would do much good if someone has lightsaber combat up and the person slices your hand off, though their lightsaber is deactivated. _________________ __________________________________
