Star Wars isn't inherently very fair. Force Users are considerably more powerful than other characters. I would veto a really powerful alien concept, but I never forced all races to be inherently equal.
As per my house rules, new characters got 9D of skills, and then three specializations. I'd rather see well rounded characters than a "walking blaster skill". We had one player who just wanted to max Dex and Blaster. Nothing else mattered. Some feel handing out more skill points is a crutch, but again, I'd rather see more interesting characters.
They'd invent new skills, like Shopping (to try and find a deal on legal merchandise, as opposed to something like Streetwise that allows you to find where to buy black market items in the first place).
I always played that you take the time to activate Force Powers, or if you want to do them all at once, you take multiple action penalties. Activating Lightsaber Combat takes an action, but maintaining it the next round doesn't.
The power that always seemed odd (and perhaps broken) was Concentration. Off memory (and it has been years since I looked at any D6 rules, though i am thinking of doing a new campaign) you get a 4D bonus from Concentration. Is that 3D after the action penalty?
If it is a full 4D, and you mix that with the use of a Force Point, then you're looking at possibly a very broken Force ability. _________________ Nihilism makes me smile. |

Concentration is 3d after the MAP, and wouldn't shopping be covered by the bargin skill. |

I always treated it as 3D after the MAP, however I don't believe the rule description makes that clear. It just says you get a 4D bonus. So I've had players argue it.
Honestly, it has been YEARS since I've looked at a D6 skills list (a conversation with my wife yesterday prompted me to start researching to run a new D6 campaign for her) but I thought Bargain was a haggle skill. Shopping is to find items. _________________ Nihilism makes me smile. |

The example given in the concentrate skill text reveals the 3d connundrum. To fined items legal items you migh want to try business or possible even investigation. |

I would go value or business for legal items.. investigation imo is more for seeing the connections between stuff. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I can see Business.
The funny side-note is that after a lengthy campaign of several years where all the PCs had tons of developed skills (and some they started making up, fencing was another one - even though that could be covered under melee, someone wanted fencing specifically) not a single player had swimming.
I almost killed my entire party of really powerful PCs by dumping them into underwater combat. Especially the PCs wearing armor. _________________ Nihilism makes me smile. |

I had one game module where their lack of willpower, stamina and running hurt the heck out of them. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
