Damn Wizards is releasing books faster than we can convert them! And just today they announced a "Galaxy at War" sourcebook for later this year.
So, if anybody want to take a stab at converting some stats from the Scum and Villainy book, post them here. I've just started looking at it and so far all I know is that there are no new alien species and there's lots of small tech stuff in there... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I own the book. I've been reading the equipment section to get ideas.
So, I'm already on it. _________________ __________________________________

This could work out really nicely. _________________ __________________________________

What is the process of converting D20 to D6... is there anything I can do to help with the conversion processes? |

I have the same question. I am more than willing to assist on whatever I can, but I have never done any D20 to D6 conversions. _________________ "May the Force Be With You." |

Excellent! I have a system for converting starships and vehicles that is pretty straight forward. However, I have that put away at the moment. I can post that later. Further, there are two utilities that help convert characters as well as starships.
With armor and weapons it's really loose. It is mostly a matter of comparing official WEG stats with the SAGA equivalents. You can see some patterns that arise. When you come across new d20 material, you look to see if it looks close to any SAGA equipment that has an official equivalent. (I've got a few d20 books, obviously.)
Then you have to tweak the existing stats up or down based on whether the new d20 equipment is better or worse. Much of it is more art than science. You can't come up with an equation for ranges, though you can see patters for weapon damages. I.E., 2d8 is usually 5D damage and such. 2d4 is usually something around 3D damage.
I'm sorry if I'm speaking nonsense, I haven't slept much in the last few days.
I can actually see if I can create a chart that would help. It would probably save me the time in flipping pages all of the time. _________________ __________________________________

Plus, there are Gary Astleford's conversion guidelines:

They were made for the old d20 system, but much of it still applies for Saga, and it helps give a feel of how things travel across... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

True. Many of those principles transfer over. _________________ __________________________________

Humm, this one's easier than I thought. Not that many new items, and the new ones are easily adaptable. Already done with everything (aliens, creatures, starships and droids), all that's missing is those techs... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I've got notes down, and I've got some ideas for some rule adaptation. It will be necessary for the upgradeable gear. It won't be anything too dramatic.
I should have them posted soon.
BTW, don't we still need to look over the Force Powers for Force Unleashed? _________________ __________________________________

Yes, we do... But right now I don't have my eyes on unleashed force powers, I'm rather looking at the bigger fish... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I've got no problem with that, I just wanted to make sure I had my information straight. We'll keep to Scum and Villainy. Are we going to hit Force Unleashed or Clone Wars afterwards? _________________ __________________________________

Frankly I'm not in the mood for the unleashed powers of Force Unleashed. If you can have a go at them I'll gladly comment on them, but I'm more interested in the ships and vehicles of TCW. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I'd like to help with this If cheshire can share his guidelines with me, I'd also like to help with the Clone Wars Campain Guide Conversions working on the ships and vehicles, as I appreciate the work you and cheshire have been doing on the conversion books and want to give back/assist. _________________ Not the droid you're looking for....... |
