Indeed but our population is smaller so anything that doesn't have instant mass appeal is usually initially overlooked as we don't have the consumer base to support significant investment. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

Yeah, my region is much the same. Canada, overall, isn't too bad, but where I'm from is usually a bit behind the rest of the country. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Very cool having that land and transform right in front of a soldier would probably make him reconsider his career choice. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

I had done stats for transformable Mecha years ago (I probably still have the notes). This brings back memories!
I had seen the original Macross, Southern Cross, & Mospeada series that Robotech was cobbled together with. I have to say I prefer the originals, but I'm a purist when it comes to foreign films. |

This is so cool.
You might want to consider proton torpedoes and/or concussion missiles in the pods too. |

Yeah, missiles/torpedoes are a good idea... but perhaps instead of adding it to the pod, using them as an alternative pod. Laser or missiles or torpedoes, rather than all three.
I know all three works well with Robotech, but I think it gets a little further "out there" for Star Wars... though perhaps adding another module that reduces speed/manoeuverability while adding an outrigger of missiles or torpedoes below the lateral manoeuvering fins (wings) could work. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

I seem to remember in some of the original Japanese animation there were multiple versions of the pods. Missiles, laser canons, sensors. |

Yes indeed! There was a sensor model (which was unarmed), the standard battle pod (produced in the millions), the officer's pod (which had arm mounting cannons), a Light Missle pod,& a Heavy Missle pod (2-3 times the load of missiles at reduced performance specs). _________________ The man who thinks he knows everything is most annoying for those of us that do. |

Guess I'll have to develop some non-prototype stats with differing PODs
Alternate universes can be fun In no way can we even think about pretending this could be anything approaching canon _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

You might want to consider that in battaloid mode the veritech is pretty much a starfighter scale droid without a brain or powered suit. So knocking up some droid stats might be wise.
The trade federation had transforming droid fighters, that might be worth looking into. |

I never really got the sense from watching Macross (or playing the RPG) that the Battleoid mode was automated or droid-like; it still relied upon pilot input to function. Even if that's not the case and there was a lot of automation, I don't think I'd want to incorporate that into a Star Wars universe analog... doesn't seem to jive in anything but some flavour/fluff text; in that perhaps some droid components help to interpret and implement the cockpit commands into the right movements, without changing any stat block elements. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Reminds me of the Z-95 VMF (Variable Mode Fighter) I created years ago for 1st Edition D6 Star Wars. At the time, there wasn't a pic of the fighter in the Star Wars Sourcebook and variable-geometry wings were mentioned, so we used the standard VF-1 to represent the Z-95. |
