Hello, Not sure where to put this. I am new to D6. I have the R&E rulebook. I think I have most of the rules figured out but I have a question since I will be the dm. On page 209 of the book it has stormtrooper stats blaster rifle of 5d and pistol at 4d is this before or after the hit on dex from the armor?
I will be gming or trying to gm my brother and nephew who are both 16. I tried to dm for them in D&D a while back ago. I think it turned out ok but I am not a very good DM. I can't bull crap or make things up on the fly very well or I would be alot better at it
I am thinking about changing the move rules a little because I will probally be using maps and characters from the d20 mini game. I am thinking about having cautious be at 1/3 movement rounding down so speed 10 or 11 would move 3 and at 12 would be 4. Cruising movement would be half of the normal speed rounding down. High speed would be their movement, and all - out would be one and a half so if a character had 10 move he would move 15.
I want to work up something using the Star Warriors rules for the space combat. I have been debating and throwing around ideas for a little while now and still not sure what to do yet. I have made up some asteroids with styrofoam and just have to put them on foam core hex bases. I will be using hex maps from the new Federation Commander game. I am thinking about using the same move rules as I mentioned earlier with Star Warriors but maybe making all-out be the ship move +2 since in the rules for the game you can overspeed a ship by +2.
I have the old GG6 are the prices the same for the upgrades in the newer version of the GG6 or different? What am I missing from the newer guide to the older one since I am using the R&E ruleset? I got the older book on ebay and did not realise that some of the books are upgraded.
I actually found the scale on the move rating today from 1st to 2nd edition browsing or that would be another question I would be asking because in the older gg6 they use dice code for ship movement. I am thinking about starting them out with an upgraded YT 2400 since I have a model of Dash's ship from the mini's game.
Where can I get a good printable map of the planets of the galaxy. I found some really nice maps on here but they are not very printer friendly. |

You're looking at the weapons' damage, not the attack skill. A rifle does 5D damage and a pistol does 4D, regardless of armor penalties. The actual Blaster skill used to fire both weapons is 4D, which becomes 3D with the armor penalty.

Looks good to me. Try it out, see how it goes, tweak it as necessary.

If you plan to use Star Warriors, you might want to check a couple of ideas and conversion tables I posted around here which could help. Not sure what thread they are one right now, but I'm confident you can find it with a little searching.

As far as I know, there isn't that much of a difference. A few skills were changed, but the hard facts like prices remain the same.

Here's one I cooked up using several different maps:

How do you use that program? I go to the site your talking about but it will not let me dl it. Do i have to dl the main program for it to work? I found your star warriors stuff but its under the same program.
I figured it out had to put in the code at the top right corner but I registered for free. Thanks for the Star Warriors conversions. They look great. |

Thanks for the Star Warriors rules. I think I may try to use the charts for a home made YT 2400.
After much thought and debating with myself I think I am going to use the regular STar Warriors rules but change the jinking , rolling and half loops. Instead of adding and subtracting numbers from the Gunnery Values Chart in combat I am going to leave those numbers the same. I think I am going to add or subtract dice codes. So if I am jinking it will subtract 1d from my opponents dice code. Double jinking will subtract 2 from my opponents code. Rolling will cancel each others dice codes.
Same thing with pinpoint fire and targeting I will add one to my dice code or if double I will add 2 to my dice code. I think it will be easier trying to keep track of dice codes instead of adding and subtracting 5 and 10 . This was the major thing that we had a problem with when we were playing.
Damage wise I think I am going to use the rules for the R&E book and use the chart in Star Warriors for the actual damage. But have the Star Warriors Fire Table chart start at -1 being a 1, 0 being 2, 1 being a 3 etc so at 16 damage points a ship will still blow up instead of the 14 on the Star Warriors chart.
I may have overlooked some things but this is the rough draft I have in mind for it. Any suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated. |
