Evacuating the refugees is his optimal choice (to help in atonement), but he's also interested in straight on fighting, as he's always done, and liberating the mountain.

I planned to pull the head off the first protocal droid I saw and attach it to my belt. I'm pretty sure protocal droid heads work without bodies but they probably need their batteries charged every few hours.
