Hey, Alcon...
Welcome to the Pit. And ya... we're all relatively friendly here (Unless Fluffy hasn't eaten, then he can be a might... touchy)
I gotta agree w/ Cheshire... there really is a LOT of great info here, but I gotta take my hat off to Gry's books - they ROCK!
Of course, that isn't to demean any other things going on here... The character generator tool Cheshire pointed you towards is excellent, and you'd REALLY be missing out if you didn't at least poke your nose in and look at the PbP games...
Just a word of advice... Don't upset Fluffy... he's a sensitive sort, but an angry wookie doesn't hold a candle to him when he's in a mood... _________________ "Love like you will die tomorrow. Hate like you will live forever." - Unknown |

I'd love to be able to, but my own coding projects are already starting to wither and die due to lack of attention and I feel like if I were to even suggest that I could take on anything else I'd spontaneously combust on the spot.
Thanks for the warm welcome folks So umm... can anyone suggest to me how I might get in on some of the PbP games? And generally how they work? I've never really tried to do the whole play by post thing before, but I'd love to play. _________________ The Road Goes On - My personal blog.

Welcome, Alcon. To get into a PbP game, scroll to the bottom of the forums and check out any of the subforums in the PbP section; each one is a different campaign. Read through the first couple of posts in what seems to be one of the main threads (usually one marked "IC" (in-character)) and see what you think of the premise. If you feel like you'd enjoy playing in the campaign, shoot the Gamemaster for that campaign a PM with a character idea and see if he's accepting new players (the Gamemaster is always the admin of the campaign's subforum). Generally you'll come up with a character sheet, and just post in the IC thread what you want to have him do---the GM does all rolling and will narrate everything, including whether or not you succeeded in your action(s). Read on through some of the IC and OOC (out-of-character) threads for the campaign you're interested in and you'll get an idea of what I mean. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Sorry, Alcon. Forgive my tardiness. I've been busy, and just keeping up with posting in the PbPs before moving on to my next group of tasks.
Welcome to the Pit! It is ALWAYS good to welcome a new member aboard.
You will come to find that this site is, I dare say, second to NONE in the SWD6 community. We have a plethora of talented, creative individuals here; some are merely players, others GM frequently, but all love the WEG system and Star Wars in particular.
If you have any questions, the forums below are well-titled and grouped by subject. Just browse around until you find something that lines up with your question. And if you DON'T find something that's already been hashed out, feel free to start a new thread in one of the forums.
And if you have any questions as to which forum a new topic should go under, feel free to PM practically ANYONE. But, if you'd prefer, Scrawprin and Loc Taal are the administrators of this facility, and would be happy to guide you. |

Hey all, I'm new to The Pit. Been here several times, but just recently made an account for the forums.
Seems like a great group of ladies and gents here from what I've read. I've very little SW D6 experience despite owning the books for nearly eight years now. I have about 10 sessions worth of D6 experience, not much but I couple it with 18 years of GMing experience (I've been running games since I was 12! Keep on The Borderlands, out in the fort in the back yard one warm summer night).
I do however have a few years of SWd20 under my belt. I hear flack about it from the D6ers from time to time, but I think both systems have their place in the gaming omniverse.
I'm logical, intelligent, and opinionated. I don't think there is any wrong way to play a game, but I do think that just because we get ideas it doesn't mean they are good ones! The way I play a game is certainly not the way some of you do it, and that's okay.
All in all, I enjoy helping people with problems that they have in their games, after 18 years of doing this I've seen PCs try just about everything. I haven't written down a scenario in years, every session is done right on the fly and my actions are as planned as the PCs themselves.
Hope to help some of you soon, and hope to share some good stories with ya. |

Hi Forum noobie here too. I've been playing D6 since I bought my first rule books at Disneyland in 1987. I'll rephrase that. I've been DMing d6 since I bought my first rule books at Disneyland in 1987. I've just realised that I've never acctualy played!! I have DMd a game in a while and I found the site while I was doing a google search. I think I'll hang around for a bit. |

Cool. I've refereed the game so many times and in my original long running campaign I think I only played twice out of 70+ actual "episodes". _________________ The Enteague Sector | Cracken's Collection of Crackpots

Welcome to our new members! Leave your blasters at the door. *motions to the corner* See that rancor over there? That's Fluffy.
Fluffy is our 'crime deterrent.' We don't throw cell phones or comlinks at people. We simply say, "Uh, Fluffy?"
Fluffy takes care of the rest. |

Hello!
I've been lurking about for a bit, browsing the forums, and I've been really impressed with the creativity and camaraderie I've seen. I don't have much experience as a GM (our gaming group is fairly small, and the few games I've run have been World of Darkness), but I've been a diehard gamer-girl for the past few years. We recently resurrected a SWD6 game that'd been put on hold, and my search for resources led me here.
I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with everyone! |

Hello!
Been posting a bit, but I joined a while ago the same day as Revenant (I notice we average about the same amount of posts too!)
Want to say hello and welcome to Lianna!
I'm a San Francisco native, bought a used copy of SW D6 1st Ed. when I was 17 and have been a D6 fanatic since.
I don't actually do much RPGing anymore but I like to get into occasionally.
I'm an avid Douglas Adams and Doctor Who fan, I work two jobs plus run a small online business. In my spare time I bicycle, run, read, cook and practice gung-fu. I love movies, new suits, but I am not a fan of male enhancement spam emails. _________________ "We attack under cover of daylight.
