The hilt extension was also my thought, initially... however, that would seriously reduce its effectiveness as a lightsaber, changing it to a bludgeoning weapon that just happens to leave a small scorch mark where it bit in to the surface slightly.
You'd better be able to block lightsabers, but that's about as far as the utility would go. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

if the guard is smaller then then the diameter of the blade then no it wont, it will go right through afterwords _________________ The Vong have Arrived

Since a lightsaber leaves "microscopic cuts" IIRC, Ankh has a point. I was thinking just a bit of a short "guard", not the entire length of the blade. It would still stop you from hitting your own arm 99% of the time, I would think. _________________ Arek | Kage |

You're more likely to have the blade hit you further from your hand than closer though. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

It may be safe to say that if it's this difficult to determine the functionality of the device it may be safer to just give Looh'ra a standard lightsaber or dual wield lightsabers.
She, and her fighting style, are working out fine in my game. Then again I'm able to provide visuals and explanation. Here in the forum much is lost in translation. _________________ "Told you, we did. Warned you, we tried. Now screwed, we all are... way to go Kenobi." - Jedi Master Yoda

I'm talking about a guard with a decent bit of distance from the blade (closer to hand/forearm). So it forces more distance between your arm and the blade along its entire length. It's hard to describe it/understand the description, but I hope you get the gist of what I'm going for. _________________ Arek | Kage |
