Gary, I think it's great that you tried to remain true to the deckpan from Platt's Smugglers Guide, I hate it when people ignore what has come before in creating something new. That said, that old deckplan really lacked so much info that it was almost useless, this new edition is MUCH better for gameplay. As I said before, the only thing that bugs me is the scaling in some of the details, and maybe the lounge could have been a bit better fleshed out.

PS. I like that for once the entry ramp makes sense, and doesn't isolate the front of the ship when opened, like in many other ships like the Lambda shuttle.

Yes, but is your ship male, or female?

Female of course. All ships are female, at least in the customs of my country.

Not all craft are female.

There was a male plane in "The Three Amigos."

How could you tell?

You could see it's little balls, according to Martin Short.

The General Lee is male. Not a ship, but still counts.

I know. That's why I said "ships", not craft. Ships referring to sea or space-going vessels, by custom. Fighters I'm iffy about, I'd say they're more analogous to planes (specifically jet fighters), but freighters on up are ships.

I know Han refers to the Falcon as female, hence my assumption of the custom carrying over, at least for humans based on American culture. I seem to recall that Russians refer to their ships as male, and I think the Germans do, too, but I'm less sure about them.

Not when I was referring to ships specifically, it doesn't. I probably should have been more specific in the original post.

Please don't take my comment about the escape pods badly. Many of the drawings from the WEG stuff have things that don't make sense.

Blame it on imperial regulations about safety and pods for a given crewsize. Smile

Hey, the way I see it: I'd rather have the pods be too big than too small, especially if there's the potential to be stuck in one for an extended period of time. Smile

I think any and all criticism is valid, to some degree. Ultimately, it comes down to a GM's preference for his game.

The Ghtroc, as presented, details a stock configuration. Being as the 720 is highly customizable, any captain can gut it and reconfigure to his heart's content. Take out one of those escape pods, mock it up to look like it's been jettisoned, and use some of the interior space for a secret compartment (for smuggling). Lacking that, you can always convert the entirety of that space to hold additional cargo.

Or possibly rip the pods out, put a Hyperdrive in that area, and put new pods in the shoulders.

That way, your Engeneer will quit complaining about how the different engines are spread so far away...

AND give a Captain a shorter run to the Pods.

Makes sense. It's a hard tradition to pass down...

You're thinking Navy personelle. I'm talking Freighter Bums.
