Clear skies, everyone!
I'm new to Rancor Pit's forums, but I've been keeping an eye on the site itself for quite a while.
Well, just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I'm just a humble GM of Star Wars D6 with nearly 10 years worth of experience. I'm a rabid Star Wars fan.
And, unlike probably a lot of my colleagues, I'm sort of a Ronin in the GM circles. For I am a GameMaster without a group.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I'm here and that I share your revulsion for the D20-system. Not because of any lackings in the game system- indeed, I've never even tried it- but due to the money-grubbing scehemes of Blizzards of the Toast.
And those of Lucasfilm, as well.
I absolutely abhord their use of candy-stripe colors on their rule- and sourcebooks. I despise the artwork that defiles the pages of said rule- and sourcebooks. As if they could EVER compare to the maginificence of Mike Vilardi and Allan Nunis!
Yes, and also Lucasfilm. Don't get me wrong, the Prequels and the Special Editions- of which only 'Empire Strikes Back' looked good- are very entertaining- and Ewan McGregor rocks!- but they leave a bad aftertaste.
Don't you get the feeling, that these people are more after our wallets than our hearts?
Even Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' was more Star Wars than Episode I.
At least West End Games seemed to have a genuine, if naive, love for Star Wars.
Well, enough ranting.
(raises his glass to toast)
To the Star Wars of Old, in our memories still bright.
And in our hearts, just as innocent.
May the Force be with you all!
P.S
Try 'Knights of the Old Republic'. It is everything the Prequels should've been.
P.P.S
Don't- for the love of God!- try Star Wars Galaxies. The gamers there have no concept of role-playing beyond advancing skills and collecting loot and snubbing other players. _________________ There is no emotion; there is peace.

Hey Jace,
I'm sure most of the members have had their fill of WotC bashing.
And I agree with you, the Empire Strikes Back special edition was the only one that really worked out for the best, and it was a close call at that. It didn't have any of the Greedo firing first, or terrible song and dance number that absolutely ruined the other two films. The fact that the original theatrical versions of the trilogy are never going to be released on DVD is a source of unending pain to me.
I wasn't too impressed with what I saw of Star Wars: Galaxies either.
