My wife was looking for a program to ease character creation on her laptop, and I pointed this one out to her. She likes it, and I appreciate it too because now she doesn't use the nonstandard notation she used to use. Two people in our game use it now, thanks! |

Nice
It's so hard to break people from non-standard notation... being a GM and trying to deal with it can be a challenge at times _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

I guess it depends on how experienced you are with the system.
By my experience, the people that need the most help tend to be the ones using non-standard notations... which means, in order to help them, the GM has to do a lot of converting, which is, well, annoying _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

i hind that my non-standard character sheets help when i GM games. it's my version of shorthand, quick to read (for me) and keeps prying eyes from reading too much when i drop papers. (being in a wheelchair i usually need help if i drop things, which i do alot) |

Heh, yea. My girlfriend does that all the time. If only i could get her to game with me. At the very least, I got her to watch the star wars movies _________________ The Vong have Arrived

Non-standard notations for a GM is a little different than players, as players just force the GM to do extra work when they screw around with how things are written. Nice idea for hiding stuff for a GM though/

So, I have uploaded a new version of the program. I _think_ I have most of what i need to release a version 1, and I can start adding additional functionality to it. I have added a Colour Scheme menu bar option. You can select a the colours for things, and I have included a few defaults. You can click output Scheme and it will copy a set of numbers to the clip board. Paste them here so i can take a look at what you guys think would be a decent theme.
Play around with it and test it please. I am colour impaired, and definitely need help in this department

Overall, I kinda like the yellow/black thing. But I did make a change that I think works better for the text boxes:
