The two I've read most recently were both quite enjoyable; Darth Bane and Splinter of the Mind's eye. Neither will keep you involved in a book terribly long though, as they're either quite enjoyable, short, or both
Um, let's see... other than those, it's been a few years since I read Star Wars... I can't fully remember which plots belonged to which books/series (ie. it was easily about 6-7 years ago). So I'll just recommend the two I already did. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

The new thrawn duo of books are pretty good, but seemed to contain a bit of fanservice.
After the great x-wing books 1-4+8, I went on to read a lot of Stackpole's non SW books. Dragon crown war cycle, and the Cartogropher series. _________________ "well it's either hoth or peanut butter" -me |

As for Novels, there is a lot that is decent and a lot that is crap.
I enjoyed the OT novelization a lot, so I'll recommend it along with reinforcing Ankhanu's recommendations.
Also, I would recommend a lot of the Trade Paper back graphic novels, as they usually have wonderful visuals to go with the story. Specifically the Clone Wars ones, the ones I read were wonderful.
And even though I haven't read it, I am going to recommend This |

I second this one. It's far better than the original Thrawn Trilogy, in my humble opinion. _________________ The Enteague Sector | Cracken's Collection of Crackpots

Last read the Republic Commando Series by Karen Traviss. Cool books with a lot of action and a deeper view at the GAR and especially the clones.
The two MedStar books by Steve Perry (one of my favorite authors; check out Musashi Flex, one of the best books ever)were pretty good, too.
And I like most of the comics. |

Yeah, if you're looking for something non-Star Wars, Steve Perry's Matador series is excellent. _________________ Arek | Kage |

I found Darth Bane: Path of Destruction and Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader very enjoyable. Well... I guess I've been tempted to join the Dark Side of the Force |
