For our online gaming, my group uses a program called Maptool.

Maptool allows for a chat, macro buttons, built in rolling, and most importantly layered maps.

I am looking for good maps for ships, street level cities, and buildings.

Specifically, a simplified version of the cross section of the core of a Droid Control Ship.

Does anyone know of a good resource for maps online?

http://www.rpghost.com/dungeon_gen.shtml
DungeonMaker

This probably is not what you are looking for, but this will create dungeon maps for you automatically. It is meant for D&D, but can be adapted to star wars easy enough.

I hear a lot of talk of people using miniatures and such on this forum. For online RPing, or if you want to play the real SW Miniatures Skirmish game online, I'd use a nifty program called the VASSAL Engine:

http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php

Get the latest version, and then download the Star Wars Miniatures Skirmish game module:

http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=126

You can also find extensions that includes more game pieces and boards.

There is still a few limitations with using VASSAL and this module for roleplaying SW d6 though:

- You can only roll a d20 in this SW module
- Only one "blank" board (the rest of the boards are all specific SW locations)
- Adding new game pieces and boards will take a bit of time (you'd need to create your own extension in which all the players would need to download)

It might be better to perhaps import the images (game pieces, boards, etc.) from this module into MapTools. I just really like the idea of using these game models of all these different SW characters and troops (all at the same scale) from different eras.

(Sorry for the thread necro, but thought it was better to post this here as opposed to creating a new thread)

I tried VASSAL in the past, its just not as fun as playing someone in person!
Although, I agree that its an easy way to get into Star Wars mini's. Also, thanks for sharing with the rest of the community, thats what makes this place great. I posted this in the past, but here are two great Star wars PC games that are free. Located here: http://www.bruneras.com/fgames.htm. I can't seem to beat the first one, but the Endor game is easier...

GOLBEZ try these sites, they are intended for the D20 Star Wars mnin game, but they have some cool fan made maps that you can use.
