So, what is the best and/or most useful jedi template or force user in the WEGs 2nd edition Revised and Expanded rules? There are so many choices in this book! _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"

I don't recall the specific stats for each listed above, but I think it is the "Minor Jedi" that begins with:
CONTROL - 1D
SENSE - 1D
ALTER - 1D
That's my vote for which Jedi template to use (especially for a new gamer). |

Actually Scrawprin, that's the Young Jedi. I voted for the Minor Jedi because he has Control 1D and Sense 1D plus a lightsaber.
Doesn't have Alter like the Young Jedi, but that lightsaber and the fact that he has the skills to use Lightsaber Combat make him/her a little more appealing.
Oh, and that template doesn't have Dark Side Points like the Failed Jedi does... ooooooh nasty! _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"

I prefer the Jedi Student, which technically is a custom template. It's simply the Failed Jedi without the darkside point. _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

Actually, Minor Jedi only has Control 1D and a lightsaber while Failed Jedi has Control 1D, Sense 1D and a lightsaber... and a DSP. But he can pick lightsaber combat has starting power. And it offers soem good background for personnality and roleplaying, with its way to rely more of the bottle than on the battle .
So my choice goes to the Failed Jedi. The the templates from Tales of the Jedi Companions offers some interesting templates as well. |

Yeah, the Tales of the Jedi templates are really cool, but Vader would on them like black-gloss on his helmet. _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"

I didn't care for the alien student or tyia force adept templates, but enjoyed all of the others. I can't possibly choose one. All the templates were fun/useful. Even the quixiotic Jedi was a blast. _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

I'm pretty partial to the Failed Jedi, myself.
More for the bottle of Whiskey than the Lightsabre, really. |

It begins with the phrase: "You think you're a Jedi, but you're not..." _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

So it is basically Don Quixote in the star wars setting then?
Interesting |

Yep. And what causes my GM to cringe in terror when I suggest playing one.
Usually after I tell him of my Redneck Jedi character... |

Redneck Jedi? That must be pretty cool.
Jedi Robes in safety orange and camoflage...
"Luke, I am your father... and your cousin!"
Bottle opener on your lightsaber...
Your fighter is up on blocks...
You don't notice anything strange about Yoda's speech pattern...
"Use the Force, ya'll!"
"Pull my finger if'n you want a taste of the Living Force!"
Does that work? _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"

Yep to all of them... Wish I could find where I posted it on the Forum...
Oh well, here's where they can be found. Apparently, I'm not the only sicko out there, someone actually wanted to put this up on the Web!
