For those of you with philatelic leanings, I thought you'd appreciate seeing this article. I finally made it into Imageshack, so now you can enjoy the stamp image too.
RELEASED IT IS TOMORROW, SELL IT THEN YOU CAN
USPS issues Yoda stamp
The Force is definitely with Yoda.
Tomorrow, USPS will issue the image of the 900-year-old Jedi Master on a sheet of 20 stamps during a ceremony at the 2007 American Stamp Dealers Association show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The diminutive galactic hero earned his own stamp after being voted the fan favorite among the 15 Star Wars stamp images, edging past arch enemy Darth Vader. More than half a million votes were cast.
Fear not, young Jedis — Yoda would not chase his friends away. The full Star Wars stamp collection — one of the most notable collaborations in Postal Service history — will remain on sale until May 25, 2008. Yoda’s stamp will be available through Oct. 25, 2008.
The Yoda stamp sheet is available for purchase in Post Offices, at usps.com and by calling 1-800-STAMP-24.

Congratulations on being the first to vote. I decided to hold off and give someone else the honor. I personally voted for the stamp of Anakin and Obi Wan's duel. in the contest they had. I figured it wouldn't win, but it was my favorite. |

Hmmmm someone could use the stamp to send it to other countries... or better yet use a regular stamp to send it .
Bah looks like I'm going to have to be content with the Lord of the Rings stamps that were released here instead. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

I just want to make it clear that when I vote for R2 I do not support C3-PO.
Also why no Fett |

Indeed. R2 is the man, C3-P0 can get melted down for parts. God knows it would be quieter around the Falcon. _________________ Nothing smells worse then burnt Wookie hair. |

You know I never thought about it but as time went by and I read more of the books I started to like all the second string characters more. Like Chewie and Wedge and R2. I guess part of it is for some reason every main character seems to have the force involved in some way or another and its nice to see people who are good at what they do because they really are just good at what they do. Another part is that for some reason it seems like being a main character gives you the right to whine like a little girl with a skinned knee. No disrespect to little girls. |

I'm a big fan of the "minor" characters, as well. I finally read "I, Jedi" recently, (I had previously listened to the audiobook) and I'm rereading the X-Wing books now. Wedge and Corran Horn rule. I'm a big fan of Talon Karrde, too. I could take or leave Lando until I read "Shadows of the Empire", he really shone in that, particularly the scene with the thermal detonators in Xizor's skyhook. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |
