Ok I noticed this in the Ship Repair thread, and I've heard it mentioned in other threads.

Where does it mention that you can use CP as credit?

I believe they're referring to first edition rules. I think before 2nd edition came out you spent Character Points when you upgraded stuff.

Bah, if you want to upgrade, spend cash. Personally I don't see how spending cps can easily be explained for the modification of a ship.

The only way possible would be to equate it to spending CPs to upgrade a droid, I would think. Even so, the cost would have to be pretty steep.

i thought that they were referencing the fan-made starship_pricing_guid.pdf
where it gives you creation points for buying starship attributes and then the "CPs" equate to cash in the last step. but i may be wrong.

I think I remember reading that some where about spending cps for ship upgrades, never even considered using it.

If you want upgrades then spend CREDITS!

CPs in that thread were referring to Construction Points, not Character Points. There has never, to my knoweldge, been talk of using Character Points to upgrade a starship.

Construction Points were originally created for use in the Starships of the Galaxy book by WOTC.

I believe that in the 1st edition you could/had to spend character points to upgrade stuff! But I could be wrong, especially since I haven't played by the 1st edition rules in a long long time! 2nd edition all the way!

Yep the 1st edition has you spending skill points to improve ships/equipment/whatever!!!! I had to look it up... how strange, I'm glade WEG dropped that in the 2nd edition.
