|
|
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't currently have internet at home and probably won't have it for at least a few more months. I can however check the forums and post from work but that would mean only being able to post Mon-Fri and usually only in the early mornings USA/EST time zone (around the time I'm putting this post up).
I've always been interested in PbP games but have only played in one a few years ago and it didn't last long.
Thanks! _________________ "Could someone please Jury-Rig my Wookiee?!"

Depends on the game. usually there is no requirements per se, but some games move faster then others _________________ The Vong have Arrived

About once a day is the norm, I think. Things often slow down on the weekends, as most people are enjoying time with their families and such. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Maybe it's just my own perception, then. It seems that since joining Rebel Uprisings, the majority of the posting goes on during the week. Maybe it's because on the weekends, I normally have the time to check more often, and there aren't always new posts because of the increased frequency of my visits. We have had a few solid sprees really late at night though, which were fun. _________________ Arek | Kage |

It would be great if everyone could get together more often for those, makes it feel more like face to face. Schedules and different time zones makes it near impossible though. _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

Posting requirements vary from game to game, but most games work well if the players can post multiple times Monday through Friday, and it's even better if they can post multiple times per day, if the GM is up to it.
I've seen games where there are 10 posts per week, and I've seen games where there are 100 posts per day. It's as fast as the players and GM want and can handle. |

Yeah, per day.
As a GM, I don't think I could handle it, but I've seen games on my old forum that flew by that fast. 5,000 posts in games after a year.
Amazing pace, really. |

Check out Jamfke's Rebel Uprisings Play by Post game below. That sucker was seeing some SERIOUS powergaming there for a while.
I know that when I'm around and there are other people in the game around, I always do what I can to be available to keep the action moving. As long as others are posting and I have the time to participate, I'm keeping right up there with them.
Had I the time at any given point, I'd personally be making a hundred or more posts MYSELF, as long as the action was happening. |
