Cal's look turns dark. "Unfortunately they were created to obey one person, ultimately," he says. Shaking his head, the look is gone as quickly as it was there. "It's definitely largely due to my aptitude for technical things," Cal says. "I can see and appreciate the logic and patterns in computer and droid languages. I've been around droids all my life," he adds with a shrug. "To me, you're just another person. Perhaps it's also due to my Jedi training, which taught me to value ALL life. To me, that includes artificial life." |

"Well, like droids, it would probably be determined by certain factors in their...programming. If there were genetic defects which prevented the programming from taking full effect...or if they were somehow possessed of a stronger will, and had the life experience that taught them it was wrong to carry out this Order 66 business...then perhaps. I haven't met any. Not yet, anyway..."

Corric looks down at the diminutive Gen'dai. "Hmm...I'll have to check with the captain about giving you a blaster; you're very young. As for coming along, what do you think, Cyn?" _________________ Arek | Kage |

The kid looks at the cat, it is obvious he is a little nervous. "ye..e..s sir" he stammers and ends it off with a salute

Julan steps out of Corric's cabin. She looks like she just stepped out of a holo-ad for Galactic Quarterly even though she's still wearing the same clothes she'd left the Anchor in. Stepping into the lounge, she smooths out a couple of wrinkles in her shirt.
"I so hope this Captain of yours won't mind if I get a few new outfits, this one is so yesterday."
Spotting the kid in mid-salute she smiles, "Oh! Hello there little one. Aren't we the little soldier!" _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

Gry Sarth wrote: | Toba mumbles something in his native Utapaun language as Qassar lays him down on his bunk. It looks like he might wake up, but then he crawls into fetal position and falls back into deep sleep. |
Sleeping contentedly, Toba slowly begins to dip into the dream world. In his imaginings, he finds himself back on his homeworld in one of the deepest, darkest recesses. He is standing in the middle of his own starship repair bay with several components floating about him running with perfect precision.
Suddenly, a klaxon begins to sound and a red light begins flashing within the bay. An ion engine in one corner begins to glow as if it would explode at any moment. Toba flies over and quickly adjusts the intake damper and the engine goes back to normal. Then, a computer console begins emitting strange bursts of feedback that almost makes his head explode. He zips over and begins adjusting the gain and modulates the transceiver. The sound disappears as quickly as it started. Then, he smells smoke.
Turning around, he sees that a brand new hyperdrive has suddenly burst into flames! As he heads toward it with an extinguisher, the hyperdrive suddenly begins to shamble and shake. It looks as if it is falling apart before his very eyes, but something even more sinister transpires. The hyperdrive transforms into a large droid, its chassis blazing. Toba points the extinguisher at the hyperdrive/droid and presses the release. A single, tiny puff is the only result.
Toba turns to fly away, but sees that the computer console has also transformed and is coming toward him. Turning away from it, he sees the Ion engine has done likewise. Spinning around in place, he looks from one system to another as they slowly close in on him. Along the floor he sees dozens of MSE-6 droids zipping to and fro. Max rolls out of the shadows alongside the Treadwell, and in a deep, almost human voice, he says:
"Toba - Toba, we are your friends. We only want to help you. Do not resist us."
Toba looks down at his hand hoping to find a weapon he can use to destroy the droids slowly advancing on him. He is horrified to see his own arm slowly transforming into a copy of Kabakh's blaster arm. He is even more horrified to see that it isn't stopping. As the small droid army closes in, the transformation creeps up over his shoulder and down the length of his body and then up his neck. As the circuitry envelopes his head, he sees Qassar step into the bay with a big smile across his face.
"As soon as you've finished the change over, get me an ale would you?"
Toba awakens in a pool of sweat, curled up in the corner of his bunk. _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

His eyes widening as he realizes just how closely Julan missed hearing the kid call himself a military insurgent, Corric steps in quickly. "Yeah, the kid's a regular military man. Wants to be a stormtrooper when he grows up. Get the discount when he orders drinks at Imperial bars, wear a lot of white, oppress everyone, that sort of thing. He's really into it. Come on, kid. Let's go ask the captain about that target shooter you were wanting." Leading the Kid by the hand, he scoots him out of the lounge. Swinging his head back through the lounge's doorway, Corric says, "Back in a flash, lady and gents." He disappears for a moment, then his head reappears quickly. Glancing at Julan, he says, "You look great by the way." And with that he is gone.
Once safely out of earshot, Corric stops the Kid and kneels down in front of him. "Hang on there a sec, Troopie." He smiles amiably. "I don't know if the captain or anyone else has talked to you about this, but you and me...all of us...have to be really careful about things. We can't let anyone know who our resistance friends are, or even that we know them. But most of all, we can't let anyone know that we're part of the resistance. Even if we think we can trust them, we still have to be careful. Okay? Even if they're pretty ladies that we take shopping with us. Even if they have good food for us to eat. Nobody can know. Do you think you can remember all that?" _________________ Arek | Kage |

Cyn looks Julan over and take a bow.
"Greetings mi'lady, I do not believe we have been introduced. I am Cyn Neofelis, formerly of the Tapani sector. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" _________________ "Dig it. in response to Julan's question
"No Madam Julan, but I was a house knight a long time ago. Has everything been to your liking aboard the ship? have quarters been assigned so you can stow your gear? Can I interest you in one of Kabakh's delightful sandwiches or a drink?" _________________ "Dig it. Who's the man? I'm the man. I'm a bad man. How bad? Real bad. Julan smirks, "Well, I'm having to bunk with your resident sneak thief at the moment, but the quarters aren't bad for a freighter. A knight huh? Like those Jedi people? And Who's Kabakh?" _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!
