"Well, what are we waiting for out here in the middle of nowhere? If the possessed ship (or the possessed Jedi) brought us here, then we should micro-jump away as soon as possible. Plotting a course, captain."

Corric cranes his neck to look at the Dream through the Skipray's viewport as the two vessels revert to realspace. Glancing down at the navcomputer readout, he says to Julan, "We're somewhere near the Anoat system. Let's see what we're closest to... While I'm checking that, hail the Dream and let's see if I can't talk to Qassar."

Katterwall decided he was hungry. Maybe he could get Sir Neofelis to bring him something from the galley. No, wait --it might be better to get the servant droid, make himself less of a nuisance to the knight unless necessary. No need to squander a resource.

Toba looks up from the computer for an instant.
"Was that Mr. Tagalong? Where does he THINK he is?! And why the devil is he HERE?"

Kabakh looks a little annoyed at the intercomm before he responds.
"You'll have to excuse me but we are a little busy at the moment. And you never specified what exactly you want. Seared herbivore brains could be any number of herbivores. Not that we actually have herbivore brains onboard." _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

To Qassar
"Master, I think Corric is hailing us."
Kabakh then steps over to Cal. Tapping him on the shoulder, he motions to his seat at the comm station.
"Monitor communications for me. I'm going to tend breifly to our guests needs then I'll be back."
Kabakh then turns and marches off the bridge. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

"Do you think the Imps would have a tracking device aboard one of their ships? Especially one of their newer designs, like the one Corric commandeered."
Cyn will take his time and start a focused scan of the blast boat. _________________ "Dig it. Who's the man? I'm the man. I'm a bad man. How bad? Real bad. I'm a 12.0 on the 10.0 scale of badness." The Evil Midnight Bomber

Kabakh heads to the Dream's galley and grabs a container of leftover pulled roba barbeque from the meal he'd prepared for the crew just before arriving at Zirtran’s Anchor from the the refridgeration unit. Soon the mouthwatering armoma fills the lounge as the pulled roba is reheated. Kabakh makes certain it doesn't stick or burn as it's reheated. Though he feels more like scorching it in a particular way that would leave a tell tale ozone smell, he decides not to ruin the container.
Once done, he grabs a Corellian seed popper roll and lightly toasts it until it's just right. He then spreads a very light coating of blue sauce on the bun, just enough to really make the flavor of the pulled roba stand out.
Kabakh then proceeds to grab a bowl and scoops in a couple scoops of beebleberry ice cream. With everything ready, he goes to find their guest.
Finding him in Cyn's cabin, Kabakh enters the room but his mannerisms seem rather cold.
"Here you go, a meal. Pulled roba barbeque sandwhich and beebleberry ice cream. Next time either wait until we have rentered hyperspace or until well after we've exited and it's clear we're safe. We just left hyperspace and for all we know, this system could be very dangerous.
"My job on this ship includes monitoring comm traffic, and that's especially important coming out of hyperspace when we have a price on our heads. I may not have picked anything up yet, but that doesn't mean there's nothing out there.
"And don't begin with this is not what you asked for. I already said over the intercom that we do not have herbivore brains. Not to mention that there is a great many different herbivores to choose from."
Kabakh then sets the tray down and exits the cabin, heading back for the bridge after taking nearly twenty minutes away from his duties on the comm. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

((OOC- got a lot of catching up to do...will do my best! ))
From Toba: "Sorry about the delay. So, what do we know so far about this whole "possesed ship" situation? And what are you taking apart there, Cal?"
"I'm actually not pullling it apart; I'm building. This is going to be a very nice wrist computer; it's going to be more powerful than my current portable, and it's going to have great protection because it's installed inside this bracer." He holds up the unit for Toba's inspection. "See here and here, these are compartments for the display screen and the keyboard respectively; they'll both be protected by these retractable panels that slide back into the bracer itself." He smiles as Toba looks it over. "It's more powerful and will have more storage room, too. I've built storage into the innermost parts of the bracer, so everything's protected. The display screen and keypad are both waterproof, and I installed microseals around each access panel as well, so I could literally use this thing underwater if I had to. I just hope I never HAVE to," he adds.
From Toba: Toba is stunned for a few seconds at Qassar's words. His eyes bulge even more.
"Say WHAT?!!"
Fists clenched by his side, Toba steps close to Cal.
"You secretly inserted a personal remote control on the Dream?!! What are you up to Jedi? Planning to waylay us in some godforsaken dustball?!!!"
Toba is properly fuming.
Cal simply looks at the Utai with an upraised eyebrow. "Yes, I secretly installed a remote control rig on the Dream. Like I said to the captain before, how many times have we been planetside, running for our lives, only to have to wait to blast off because we needed to run preflight checks? Or we've been some distance away from the ship and needed access to the computer, especially when Kabakh was with us? As you can plainly see, I secretly installed it...but I didn't KEEP it a secret. I never had any intention of doing so. The installation was kept secret so that no one COULD access it; and the code to use it is complex enough that if you don't have the sequence it'd take you some MONTHS to crack it at the very least!" His voice drops an octave and he leans closer to Toba. "You should know by now, having watched everything that I've done so far, that I'd NEVER do anything to hurt this crew. EVER."
From Kabakh: to Qassar
"No one accessed Cal's program, Master."
Kabakh's fingers flex ever so slightly, but only someone at the computer station mightjust barely register the movement. And because of the slight movement, they could well say it's probably just a regular eletrical impulse passing through the servos in the droid's fingers.
Kabakh continues staring at the computer screen so Cal can't see his face as he speaks to him.
"Did I misunderstand something when you said the program operated the ship by remote. And yet no one accessed the program. Now unless I did misunderstand you, either the Imperials or someone like them found your remote program via scans of this ship...."
Kabakh makes sure the final part is loud enough to carry all the way back down the access to the bridge. Anyone that far back can hear him and Cal finds his ears ringing a little from being so close.
"....or else we have someone onboard who shouldn't be. Someone who is using your program to operate this ship, perhaps even to take us into a trap or lead those after us straight to us."
"Like I said before," Cal replies, digging in his ears at the slight ringing, "NO ONE OUTSIDE THIS SHIP KNOWS IT'S THERE. It's not something you're gonna find by some scan; I have it buried so far down and disguised as normal operating subroutines for the refresher's waste and air control monitors. I haven't told anyone but those on this ship NOW about it, and have protected it from being found."
He looks around at everyone on the bridge. "I don't know what kind of history you guys have, but when I was running with smugglers, who have a lot harder time trusting that anyone I've ever met-except maybe Toba-I was allowed to make upgrades to the ship's systems all the time, without being hassled about it. And anything I ever did, I made people aware of afterwards. Most of the time it was just simple software upgrades or power rerouting routines that improved performance...but there were several times I added some pretty major coding to the system. One of those was a setup similar to what I just put in the Dream; I just had to get to know this ship and its computer before I could start making additions of that caliber. I did as I've done in the past, making people aware of what I've done...and all I get is suspicion. What in the nine Corellian hells did I do to deserve THAT?" With that he turns back to the computer station and resumes working on his bracer computer. "Just gotta get that processor," he mutters under his breath.
And for the current post...
Cal hops back up from the comm station as Kabakh comes back onto the bridge. "Didn't hear a peep," he says, going back over to the computer station and resuming his work on the bracer. |

When Cal hears that Corric is hailing the Dream from their ship, he cheers right up. He hops up, goes back over to the comm board, and keys the mic. "Hey, Corric! Were you able to get that processor?" he asks, excitement flushing his voice. |

Qassar justs sits in the pilots chair, listening to the arguments raging around him.
Suddenly he stands and walks out of the cockpit. He heads straight to engineering, all the while looking into various rooms.

Cal is oblivious to Qassar's exit, his attention focused solely on Corric's impending answer. He holds the bracer in his hands, cradling it to his chest. The monitor and keypad units have been installed; all that remain are the processor, the connections TO the processor, and a number of extra control buttons that have yet to be put in and hooked up. |
