right. A standard laser sight when aimed would give +1D. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

But the most amazing sight/computer targeting software & hardware does no good if you shoot from the hip... Then again if you've got the sights you probably are into accuracy over speed |

As long as everyone in the game thinks it’s cool then who cares?
Be it simple laser sight or some convoluted cyber-thingy (like the one we use), as long as it does the job and the players are having fun with it. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

While we're on the topic of crafting/modifying does anyone know anything about the crystals you can put down the barrel of your blaster to give your blaster a less powerful but ummmm larger shot?
I think it is -1d to the strength of the shot but it adds +1d to your blaster skill

I think you're right. I think that's in Cracken's Rebel Field Guide. I'll double-check when I get home tonight. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." --Yoda

What is being discussed is a "Beam Splitter" that is placed over the barrel focusing apature of a Blaster. It disperses the beam (Expands the Magnetic Bubble) over a larger area, giving you a greater chance of hitting your target. However, the Blaster Gas is spread over a larger area, and is not compacted closely together enough to keep at it's regular Superheated Temperature, hense less damage per hit.
I can get into the math if you really want to... But that makes my head hurt and I'll have to talk to my Redneck buddy (Who took Engeneering in College and has all the formulas at the ready.). |

I've seen something similar in Star Wars: Galaxies (MMOLRPG)... So... I guess. |

It is in General Craken's Feild guide so it's about as official as it gets my GM just got the book (again, he had it lent it to someone and never got it back) and I now remember that's where I saw it |

Yeah, I like to use Gungans to make sure that my stuff is properly calibrated but that's just me.
Armor that could predict where your target might run...That has potential to give your GM some fun. Just make sure there are no wookies in the area if you miss and don't get a 1 on the wild die. _________________ wookies+lightsabers=bad day
