Yeah, it also startled me to see Cal talking to people who were aboard a different ship, and traveling through hyperspace. He must be a powerful Jedi indeed, not even comm signals work through hyperspace...
Oh boy, I suspected it might have something to do with Cal's remote ship access, but if it really turns out to be his fault, he's in deep bantha poodoo (no matter how absurdly useful the ship's actions were).

Not to many ships I've seen in Star Wars lit turned into a droid like this. Even if it is Cal's programming, seems like a rudimentary droid conversion to me. Gotta be Toba's worst nightmare.
