On a side note, 9 meters is way too big for an A-wing...

The A-Wing is listed in Starship Stats as being 9.6 meters in length. The engines on it are fairly large, based on my observations of the picture, and seem to take up a good portion of the rear portion of the ship; just over 1/3rd the total length.

The question still stands; has anyone stat'ed out a Firefly for D6? I'm getting to it as quickly as I can.

It has also been mentioned that a type of Star Wars freighter appears in the series, again in the background.

Yeah, it's the Mobquet Medium Transport from the Dark Empire comic (it also appears in the PC game X-Wing Alliance). Some person on the Firefly production crew actually got to do a fully photorealistic rendering of it. 8)

What episode does it appear in?

It appears in the Firefly episode, "Shindig."

No it doesn't. They have core worlds and the like. It does have some kind of FTL drive, but I suspect it to be more of a Warp drive than a Hyperdrive means of faster than light travel. They just don't seem to get into the details of the technology in Firefly. But the way they describe the Galaxy, it definately takes place outside of one mere solar system. I don't know where you could possibly have gotten that. There are far too many planets they've visited for it to all be in one system. Terraformed or not.

I would agree that the ship would have no shields or guns. Obviously, it would be very old if used in a Star Wars game. Any players using one would obviously have to add shields and weapons to it.

The "Core Worlds" and frontier refer to the degree of control exerted on them by the Alliance. It is one solar system. Whedon clarified it himself, and it's mentioned in the beginning of the Serenity movie. See the setting section of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefly_(television_series)

I stand corrected. I just read all the wiki information on the subject. Weird that they have no FTL.

That's one big freaking solar system.

I believe the planets of the Firefly.Serentiy setting aren't planets so much as moons of gas giants. Every one of them is terraformed to one degree or another to make them habitable.

I also believe the setting's conventional drives are capable of high percentages of the speed of light, since otherwise, even in a single solar system, it would take decades to get anywhere.

The D6 conversion looks good, though I might consider upping the hull a pip or three. Remember, this thing can practically fall out of the sky and still be patched up to fly another day.

IIRC, I heard Whedon talking about it and he said that the Core Worlds were planets near to the sun, like Earth, Mars, Venus and Mercury are in our solar system; that's where the Alliance was based. The Fringe, where most of the show takes place, is the outer edges of the system and is indeed made up of mostly gas giants and their moons.

Those with the early stages of terraforming or none at all, I believe. Kind of the cosmic frontier.

Sorry for the loooooong delay in reposting. Been out of sorts for a while. I don't think that it needs any more pips in Hull since it is an older model ship and not designed for combat. Though I would leave it up to a concensus of my peers.

Well, in my opinion, and the opinion of a couple other people on D6 Universe, the stats for the ship are just fine. I wouldn't change anything.

Also, I would be hard pressed to believe that it all takes place in a single solar system. I never watched the series, but from the movie, they visited 5 locations, tried to contact another 4 or so. They also eluded to the fact that there were more worlds than that. Unless that solar system has somewhere on the order of 40 planets, and a good chunk of those have been terraformed, and it's somewhere on the order of 20 times larger than our own solar system yet still managed to have enough solar radiation from it's SINGLE sun to provide light and heat to all of the planets....including the planets WAAAAY out there (like on the far side of the Reaver's territory). I just don't see it. So including a hyperdrive makes perfect sense, in my mind.

I had wondered about that...they never used any sort of FTL drive that I could tell; the closest was "full burn". And yet they could flit to and fro from various worlds that were warm enough to sustain life, had the right environment/atmosphere, etc. So you'd think it'd have to be just one system, two really close to each other at most. But it'd have to be more than that unless they had somehow dragged planetoids of the right mass with ginormous tractor beams into the right orbit, and then terraformed them. 'Tis a head-scratcher.
