Since these melee weapons are the main stay of the Imperial Royal Guard, and have also been 'noted' as being able to be used to fight jedi, do they posess some imunity to the cutting from light sabers??

| I'd guess they're either made of phrik alloy or with a cortosis weave, which would render them lightsaber resistant. |

Where does this info comes from ? this could help to find answers 
I just remember force pikes being described in the Imperial Sourcebook.
Maybe there is nothing 'lightsaber resistant' in the weapon but it's still darn effective

The original Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology book has an entry on force pikes (as I assume the new version does, but I don't have that). It doesn't say anything about resistance to lightsabers, though. It does have this sentence about its composition:

So, nothing about phrik or cortosis, but that might be in the New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology.
