That is really cool!
I've never tried it the way you suggest, but one GM character of mine has a stong affect on my players and I never have to role a die, it's just good roleplaying, word of mouth, and past experience that scare my pcs. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

Our GM always used the "mysterious old man in robes" as a GMC to get the adventure started. We all assumed he was a Jedi, even though he never really displayed the use of any Force powers or even a lightsaber for that matter. His skills may not even have been that good, but our GM just played him with a certain aura, a kind of quiet confidence that just said, "Don't even try it". We never did. _________________ "He's no good to me dead." --Boba Fett |

this game idea is pretty much dead...
and SNiPE doesn't come on the forums anymore... _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

I would say this thread can be very much alive, why not? This thread doesn't have to be specifically for SNiPE. I would say it's for anyone who comes here looking for adventure ideas. _________________ "He's no good to me dead." --Boba Fett |

After the Bounty Hunters bring in the bounty they wind up on the Bounty list for maybe having talked too much to the original bounty, having learned a dirty little secret, maybe the name of an Imperial deep cover agent, even if they know nothing 8) _________________ Tuco: "But if you miss you had better miss very well. To get a really good 'bounty hunter feel' to the campaign, make sure one job is revenge for the last job - posted by the other guys. Try offering the hunters several jobs at once and allowing them to choose. Rake 'em over the coals with Imperial permit checks and fees, planets that don't honour the IPKC, and interfering planetary police. Definately add a rival bounty hunter or two. Vary the types of missions without telling the players; one search filled with non combat skills and role playing, one combat shoot 'em up, one bounty to recover a mysterious object (not a person) - for that matter recover a production prototype, new pharmecutical serum, etc. Recover people of no importance such as a secretary who stole the boss' recorded conversations - a bonus if the recordings are recovered; only to learn the secretary is the wronged party. One bounty where the target is someone the players should not mess with - make sure the players have plenty of reasons to mess with him before offering the posting. Everyone likes hunting Jedi - what if a Jedi hires them to get a persistant Imperial off his tail? What if the players don't realize a Jedi hired them until after the Imperial's been rubbed out?
I think Star Wars should be good vs. evil / black & white. But bounty hunters are, by their nature, questionable. Throw them a lot of curve balls in the missions. Remember, many of the bounties are, themselves, illegal. And those posting them are not trustworthy - there should be many things "unspoken". _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.
