I'm talking about the big boys as seen in episode three! These are masters of the jedi council who were taken out by mere troopers. ..and the masters did'nt use dodge they used their lightsabers. Does anyone here use -1D for each additional bolt parried (not controlled)? _________________ "That was left handed!" |

Well, I have several explanations:
1. Eventually a blaster shot will sneak in somewhere- no Jedi, no matter how high his skills, is invincible
2. Combined fire- enough clones does make a difference
3. And the cop-out: its a movie and GL needed to show the Jedi being killed _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Another thing to consider is that most of the Jedi in the movie were caught completley by surprise and/or shot at by people they assumed were friendly through and through. The disbelief of seeing a trooper who would have stood as a human shield if ordered to firing on a once superior officer may have caused many of them to doubt their danger sense. Also the movie showed several of the Jedi being shot by not only the troopers but droids as well as they were leading battles at the time of order 66. _________________ "Finally we will have our revenge" Darth Maul

Malus makes a good point; some of them were simply caught in a crossfire they couldn't get out of.
Personally, though, I really do have a problem with some of them not having even been given the chance to DRAW their lightsabers, much less begin deflecting bolts.
Samuel L. Jackson was RIGHT when he made the request to George Lucas: "Don't let me die like a punk, man."

I think that some of them not getting the chance to draw their sabers is due to the fact that they never expected the clones as a source of danger. Most of them were out in the field constantly expecting danger from the Seperatist forces so the danger sense would mostly have them jumping to look for a droid ambush, not an attack from allies who are geneticly coded to blindly follow the orders of a superior. Anyone who sees clone after clone after clone run strait to his death because he was told to would never expect one to commit essentially treason. Not to mention that going into combat with anyone builds trust. _________________ "Finally we will have our revenge" Darth Maul

Which Jedi do we see die due to Order 66?
Ki-Adi Mundi
He, in my opinion, gave the best showing for himself. He seemed to realize that something was wrong, was surprised for a moment, but then began to defend himself. Even assuming that he had Lightsaber Combat up because he was leading a charge against the Sepratists, it looked to me like it took about 10-20 seconds for him to be finished off. That means that he had two or three rounds, so it it not unreasonable (30%-40%) that in one of these rounds he would have rolled a one on the wild die for his parry. Even without a complication that reduces his defense. With all those clonetroopers and battledroids, it is not unreasonable to assume that one rolled a six on the wild die to get a better roll, especially if the gamemaster rolled all the attacks. As to him not having Danger Sense up, he was running into a battle, he probably does not need Danger Sense to tell him that someone, droids in his estimation, is going to be attacking him.
Plo Koon
Since he was in a stgarfighter battle, he probably was using Combat Sense. Unfortunately, his wingmen were probably not included in the targets of that power. At point blank range, Plo Koon really did not have much of a chance.
Adi Gallia
Similar to Plo Koon, she was on a speeder, so Lightsaber Combat was not much of an issue. Since she might have been on patrol, Danger Sense might be an issue for this one, but I am not sure. The difficulty might have been increased because she was not expecting an attack from her clones.
Ayla Secura
She was not a Master, and really she probably ought not to have had her own command. I have no problem with her not even drawing her lightsaber before being gunned down. She foolishly thought that her comrads would protect her, not kill her.
Yoda
He obviously was using Danger Sense. |

Not only that but Yoda was forewarned due to the disturbance he felt in the force caused by so many Jedi being killed nearly simultaneously. _________________ "Finally we will have our revenge" Darth Maul

It's also worth noting that Ayla survived. Canon Word of Lucas on that one. |

What?! Where did you get that "canon word of Lucas" from?!
I'm sorry, but being gunned down repeatedly by a squad of troopers, in the back, realy should ruin your day. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

If she did survive, we need to add a "Survive a blaster barrage right into your unsuspecting butt" force power to be used after death... No, I just can't see that having worked out. _________________ "Your lack of faith disturbs me." - Vader |

I can not see it haveing worked out either, especially since the clonetroopers wisely kept shooting her corpse after it was down, just to be sure.
There was some rumor before Revenge of the Sith was released saying that Amy Allen claimed that Ayla Secura survived the movie. Obviously, once the movie came out, we realized the veracity of the claim. |

I bet Lucas heard about Amy Allen saying she lives. And when they went into CGI for that scene Lucas wanted to make absolutely sure everyone knew there was no chance. Hence the absolute destruction of the character above and beond the others. _________________ "You can't take the sky from me..." Wait wrong forum. |

Or maybe it was a robot jedi! Yeah, Ayla bought a robot to serve as a proxi whilst she was on vacation.
I think the clones shot her up more because she wasn't on a vehicle. Two other jedi died in an explosion (No surviving that two hundred feet in the air), and Ki-Adi was hit from both side (CIS and Clones) and got shot about twenty times. In SW Battlefront, a clone says they executed her fast and lethally because she was a great leader that deserved respect and saved many lives. _________________ "Your lack of faith disturbs me." - Vader |

I dont see any way for her to have survived the volleys of blaster fire that hit her. I would like to see the source for the claim of her survival. _________________ "Finally we will have our revenge" Darth Maul
