DB ERROR

im getting alot of:
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

its been going on for about a day now. any help or suggestions?

It happens to me sometimes too but it clears up. Nothing to get too worried about though.

I don't know, it happens all the time to me, usually in the afternoon. Must be band-width or some computer-related term.

I've been seeing it a lot lately as well. Usually once or twice with the Refresh button gets me in. Don't know what's causing it, though.

Follow up:

The Rancor Pit's hosting company was having (severe?) SQL issues all around (not just here on this site), and while I still await an official "what happened" response it does seem to have been resolved both here and other sites hosted by them.

I just wanted to check if anyone else has had some problems opening the forums. Twice recently I have been unable to open it for a fairly extended period of time. It's not the old "DB Error", it simply fails to open.

Am I the only one who, when these things happen, has an irrational fear that the Pit might be gone for good, and wonders how he's going to reestablish contact with the folks around here?

Not me. It happens every now and then, I'm used to it. I give it a few hours, and it's always back.

Things seem to have finally calmed down over at the host of the Rancor Pit. No "official" (a.k.a. clear, understandable) explanation at this time.
